"We had an excellent experience with Luis and Monarch Drywall. Had some drywall repair work completed - you cannot tell where the new drywall transitions with the old/existing drywall. Luis also created an enclosure for a sump pump, with an access door installed. Additional work included an extension of the drywall on the walls up to the glass block windows. Work quality was outstanding. We were charged as estimated - a very reasonable price. Luis was very professional."

Small jobs welcome

"I highly, highly recommend Jerv?s service if you need any small or large repairs done on your home or business. I hired Drew to install a bathroom ceiling fan, as well as to install my new bathroom light fixture I purchased and he did an amazing job and I am not only very happy with his work, but he was also very professional, kind and knowledgeable about the work he was doing. I will definitely use Jerv?s services again for anything else I need done in my home. Thank you Drew for all your amazing work you did for my bathroom and I will definitely use your services again!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You’ll want to inspect your plaster walls for signs of damage before painting. If you notice soft spots, deep cracks, bubbling, or areas where the plaster is crumbling or pulling away from the wall, it likely needs repair. While small hairline cracks are common and likely cosmetic, you should address larger issues before painting to ensure a quality, smooth finish.

In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.

Regular inspections, repainting, and avoiding moisture exposure help maintain integrity.

The person’s skill will affect how many drywall sheets they can hang in one day. Some people can hang 10 or more sheets in a day, while others may only hang six or seven sheets. It also depends on the framing complexity since custom cutting and fitting the drywall can prolong the process.

Applying spackle is a simple DIY project that most people can complete in just a few hours. Even homeowners who have little DIY experience can complete this project in an afternoon. However, if you're uncomfortable with the project or don't have the time, you can always hire a pro to help.
