"I thought I needed foundation work after I had a company install two new sump pumps as a precautionary measure, during an extremely wet time in Green Bay. The guy installed them improperly and I had water seeping in the bottom of my foundation that same night (btw it took him over five hours to install causing me great concern). He said it was a foundation issue although I’ve always had a dry basement. After tearing out wet carpeting and the walls (I’m 67)... Basten came out. In literally five minutes, Matt said the sumps were installed too high and flooded the drain tiles. In minutes he had his crew here and they installed the correct size sumps!!! No extra charge for an emergency, nor did they try to up-sale me, which as an older, single woman, easily could have happened!!! What honesty and professionalism!!!! Only took Noah and Hayden 45 minutes to install and not a drop of water since. Thank you!! Highly recommend!!!!"

Hedges are a better financial investment for a home than fences in several ways. First, hedges are less expensive to install than fences. A split rail fence is not typically considered among types of dog fencing. Many dogs are small enough to slip out between or under rails, and dangerous pests like coyotes can slip in. However, adding wire mesh to a split rail fence can add the security needed for dog safety without compromising the timeless look that makes the split rail style appealing.

Posts for a horizontal fence should be no more than 6 feet apart. Wood pickets are not as strong when mounted horizontally as when mounted vertically. As such, the fence panels on a horizontal fence can’t cover the same span between posts as a vertical fence can. If you install the posts further apart on a horizontal fence, the fence will lose stability, making the boards more likely to sag. 

Removing fence posts that are set in concrete is something you can't do by hand. You will need an excavator, a strong post-puller, or a jackhammer. If you plan on recycling the concrete base, you may be able to cut the post out with a jackhammer and then set the new post in the existing base. However, it's usually better to remove both the fence post and concrete together. Due to the weight of concrete, you will need a hydraulic removal tool.

When it comes to aluminum fence post depth, the posts should typically be about one-third of the length of the fence post deep into the ground. However, it's always best to check with your fencing manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you install it at the recommended depth for stability.
