"We were very satisfied with Matt’s service to remove 6 stumps. He was professional, understood what we wanted done and did it very well for a competitive price. He also did a good job cleaning up the area. We will definitely use his service in the future. Thank you!"

"Called the city for me when I got nowhere, right on top of things and the cleanup was great, did not find one branch left, most of all they asked what and how I wanted things done, they did not go up and start cutting to how they thought it should be done, it was to my specifications only and they were very considerate, I will keep their card forever and the rate was very reasonable. Thank you NE tree service."

"Worked very hard. Made sure everything I wanted done was complete. They did much more than just remove a stump. Took down several small trees. removed some old logs and brush as well as grinding down several stumps. Hardest working crew I have ever scene. Phil magically loaded everything into their trailer and removed everything from my yard. HIGHLY recommend."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should trim the lower branches of your maple tree for safety. Trimming maple trees as they grow helps lift the crown and canopy and trains it to grow straight up. A good rule of thumb is to prune enough branches to leave 6 feet of clearance under the tree.

You’ll have to balance up the cost, the value of the tree (sentimental or otherwise), and the risk factors. An experienced arborist will help you understand whether transplanting is likely to be successful. The cost and hassle of transplanting a large, well-established tree are often not worth it, especially if the species is fast-growing and easy to source. The decision depends on the age and species of the tree, the conditions in the new site location, and how careful the company is when digging out and moving the tree.

Many consider the Fraser fir to be the most popular type of Christmas tree, but which type of tree sells out near you can depend on region and decorating trends that year. For example, the Leyland cypress is especially popular in the Southeast, according to the National Christmas Tree Association.

You can remove a small tree from your yard if there’s space for the tree to fall, you have the right tools and safety equipment, and you follow a clear plan of action. You’ll just want to follow the steps above carefully, and ideally, you will have experience doing similar tasks. If you have any doubts that you can do this project safely, though, you should hire a pro.

Unfortunately, palm tree stumps are one of the most difficult types to remove due to how their roots grow. Unlike other trees, palm tree roots grow horizontally and vertically. Palm tree roots grow as deep as three feet into the ground, although soil and growing conditions could mean they go as far as 50 inches into the earth.

If you want to be able to repurpose the grass in the area where you removed a stump later, you’ll have to dig quite deep—and perhaps wide—to trim away all the roots.
