"I needed someone to test for mold as I had been diagnosed with a pulmonary mold disorder. When they arrived they immediately showed expertise in these matters and were concerned about my overall health and the state of my home. As it turns out one of my biggest issues was dust. To get better and be in remission so to speak the dust has to be reduced in my home first. They stated it would not pass a mold test right now there was no need to test and I needed a special cleaning. If I had the money I would have used them. I ended up getting some family together to get the job done as the price was out of my budget. However, if you have a mold or allergy issue, or any water damage at all I would not hesitate to call this company they care about you, your home, and your health. Thank You, Brandon and Tom."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"The cleaners did an excellent job in cleaning the carpet and attempting to remove all darkened areas in the carpeting. There were a few areas that they were unable to remove completely, but it appeared that those areas wouldn't come clean anyway. They did forget to clean the storage area at the entrance of the apartment, but this was not an issue as that room is being re carpeted."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

No, rubber mulch isn’t toxic and is considered safe to use around pets. However, pets, especially dogs, may try to chew on or eat rubber mulch, which can cause choking. Consider monitoring your pets and their behavior when around this mulch type to see how they respond to it.

You might be wondering, “Is laminate flooring toxic?” The product does contain formaldehyde, which is found in the resins used to bind the wood fibers together. But the chance of overexposure and adverse reactions, such as allergy- or asthma-like symptoms, is low unless you are exposed to formaldehyde in other places, i.e., if you work with formaldehyde regularly outside the home. Keep in mind, too, that many household products have the potential to pose a health hazard, such as cleaning products.

Identifying harmful strains of mold helps prevent respiratory and allergic reactions.

While water in your basement is unlikely to make you sick unless it’s coming from a sewage backup, mold is likely to start to grow in wet areas within 24 hours, and mold can make you sick. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), inhaling mold spores can cause allergy symptoms, including runny nose, itchy eyes, difficulty breathing, wheezing, and itchy skin. Individuals with pre-existing respiratory issues like asthma and immunocompromised individuals are at an elevated risk of symptoms when inhaling mold spores.

Sewer gas in any location can cause eye and respiratory irritation if you’re exposed at low levels, or more severe symptoms if you’re exposed at high levels—but fortunately, the fresh air outside means it’s less likely to affect your physical health. However, sewer smells outside can still indicate significant plumbing problems that will need to be dealt with, such as a potentially damaged sewer line or roof vent pipe.
