"Stay away from this company. We had our roof replaced a year ago by this company that was chosen by the previous owner & realtor. Twice this year, our drywall ceiling in the laundry room has caved in! When they installed the roof, somehow damage was done to the furnace roof stack. There were cuts to the metal stack, causing rain to enter the attic area & then damaging the ceiling in the laundry room. Caulking was all that as done. That did not fix it! Also most of the insulation in attic was wet. We tried to dry this out with a fan in the ceiling opening. We have a 50year warranty on the roof, but only covers the shingles. The original contract states that the installer (Shimek Construction), is responsible for any problems for a period of two years. He sometimes never answers my calls, when he does, make promises & never does them. The last time he said a stack was ordered & was going to install the stack next week. That never happened...No calls or nothing. I called the corporate office for GAF Shingles and told them nothing was being done. They sent a letter to Shimek Construction and still no reply. I called corporate and they advised me to hire another contractor at my expense at a cost of $685.00 Plus. We hired another roof company and they repaired the roof and installed a new furnace stack. I'm left with the repair of the ceiling at my expense. Also Shimek Construction, replaced a section of drywall in the family room that was damaged from the previous roof leak. It looks like a 10 year old had did the job! Now it has a one foot crack and looks like a trapdoor on the ceiling! Stay away from this company!"
