"We were looking to rebuild a crumbling concrete wall flanking our front stairs, adding railings, and including demolition and haul-away of old concrete. The wall itself slants and turns, and required some precision and care in reconstruction. This team gave us a terrific quote in very short order, had the team on the site within a week, and finished in great time. The work was first-rate, they were easy to work with (and cooperative as we needed to get in and out during construction) and consulted with me throughout on a few key decisions (on railings etc.). I'd work with them again, without question. Excellent."

Small jobs welcome

"I have a lovely 87 year old stone house that had the original front porch. It needed to be totally replaced. Affordable Concrete removed the old porch and constructed a new one - perfectly! I had a design in mind and they took that design and made excellent suggestions to improve upon it. They were a dream to work with. Paul is an expert in concrete and an artist as well. He truly cares about the end result. He took pains to make sure measurements were precise and the work was does well. He was easy to communicate with, had a lovely sense of humor, a great work ethic and knew his craft inside and out. He instilled trust. I am over the moon about how this turned out. I highly recommend Paul and Affordable Concrete without reservation. You can look forward to an excellent outcome and experience. Thank you, Paul!"

"Boulders Concrete replaced existing wood steps with concrete steps plus added a metal railing since our yard is divided into two separate levels. They started on time and finished on time. Ted and his workers were very professional and did excellent work plus he saved me money over other bids. I would highly recommend this company."

"I asked Steve from All-Star who was in the neighbor's driveway to stop over and give me an estimate Monday morning 05/2024. I said wrong answer and we came to an agreement. I received a verbal estimate quickly and it was a firm estimate, even though I thought it could be done for less (problem is finding someone to do it for less). We all know the price of materials went up during the covid years and price of concreate and asphalt has not gone back down from pre-covid era. So, I felt the price was in the ballpark, knowing I was tired of seeing all the cracks in the driveway leading to this pulsive asphalt repair project. Disclaimer: I did talk to the neighbor the night before and they did some research w/o me knowing it. My 1500 sq ft asphalt driveway was re-capped (2nd layer of asphalt over the top of the 1st layer) with a crew of close to 8 -10 people that arrived. Each person knew what their job assignment was, and they were efficient. They cleaned up the grass that was growing in the cracks of the concrete portion of the extended driveway that joined to the garage as they said they would do. Now that my driveway is done, I know of three additional neighbors who asked All-Star for price estimates to have their driveways done. I like how the driveway turned out and took the Seal-Coating oil-base option to extend the life of driveway and keep its luxurious shine. This tells me the neighbors thought All-Star did a good job on my driveway, which helped/convinced my neighbors to get an estimate for their driveways. I'm satisfied with the good quality work Steve and his crew did. I could see Steve taking charge when laying down the new layer of asphalt, making sure the machine was calibrated correctly going down the driveway. He was responsive to my concerns and addressed the issue right away. I would highly recommend them and see their equipment in the neighbor's yard soon. I'm sure Steve and I will be talking again in the very near future."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

Does the water in your taps sometimes come out very slowly? If so, you might have problems with low water pressure in your house, and your pressure washer won’t effectively clean. To test if your water pressure is sufficient, time how long it takes for the water from your hose to fill a 5-gallon bucket. Usually, if it takes less than two minutes, you’re good to go.

The average cost to pressure wash a house is around $310, with typical prices ranging from $200 to $420. However, the total cost can vary widely, from $200 to $750. Power washing, which uses heated water, may cost between $250 and $400 per project, with an average of $200 to $300 for a 2,000-square-foot home.

Key factors that influence the final price include:

  • The size and height of the house (a multi-level home costs more than a single-story one).

  • The complexity of the job and accessibility of certain areas.

  • Geographic location.

  • Equipment and hourly labor costs.

Hiring a professional is often recommended as they bring their own equipment and cleaning solutions. Experienced professionals know how to complete the job effectively without causing damage to your siding, gutters, or landscaping, which can be a risk with high-powered water jets.

You can hire a landscaper to clean up your asphalt driveway or make minor repairs. You can also hire a company that specializes in asphalt driveway installation and repair. For cleaning jobs, most landscapers charge by the hour. Pressure washing a driveway costs between $100 to $350, but spot treatments and refilling damaged asphalt will cost extra.

No. In spite of its identical chemical makeup, sodium bicarbonate manufactured for blasting purposes has a particular type and size of particles that differs from grocery store baking soda. In addition, this method would not be cost effective because you would need several boxes of baking soda to equal one blast-sized bag of medium.

Whether you need to winterize your pressure washer depends on where it will be stored. If it's kept in a location where temperatures could drop to freezing, any liquid left in the water pump can freeze, expand, and cause severe damage to the machine. To prevent this, you can add antifreeze to the pump. While emptying the machine with compressed air is an alternative, it can be a tedious process and may not remove all the liquid. If you can store the pressure washer in a relatively warm place with no risk of freezing, you won't need to add antifreeze. However, regardless of storage conditions, it is good practice to empty the gas chamber and refresh the oil before storing it for the winter.
