"Hamm's Arbor Care is knowledgeable and experienced in identifying, treating and preventing problems that cause trees/shrubs to die. We have used this company for several years and they have saved two large old Oak trees from dying of Oak wilt. They have also treated our white Birch tree that has allowed it to survive past the normal lifespan of this species. When trimming workers remove cut branches and upon completion/departure they leave our yard clean of any debris and in good condition."

"Moved to Beaver Dam during summer of 2020 and hired Fiddlers to do snow removal. I have been very impressed with their great service. They are here quickly after a snowfall and my corner sidewalks and driveway are cleared perfectly. They also do my front porch, steps, and walkway. I can definitely recommend them."

"Spent this morning with Bruce and Brian from B&H Tree Service from Portage. They did an AMAZING job removing a tall, dead oak tree that was crowding a lovely white pine and threatening the water pump and propane tank area. Had the best equipment to lift and place that huge thing on the ground. Then proceeded to cut all the wood to "splitter size" for us, then cleared the branches and leaves from that tree and another huge branch that came down in another area. SO Satisfied with their work. Highly recommended!"

"Angel Tree Solutions did a great job! I hired them to trim my large maple tree. They were very efficient. They cut branches, removed them and cleaned everything up before they left. I would definitely hire them again for any tree service."

"Professional, polite and knowledgeable crew always show up to the job site ready to work and satisfy the customer. They care about doing a good job and it shows-home owner has always been very pleased at completion of several mowing jobs. Looking to hire them for additional services. It's clear Ryan runs the show, but he's also part of a GREAT team of people who do a great job!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

If you don’t trim your palm trees, you can expect several negative outcomes, including:

  • Unhealthy palm trees attract pests, diseases, and fungi

  • Dead falling fronds can cause severe injury or damage to your home, pedestrians, or cars

  • Dead palm branches are flammable and can catch fire, especially during a lightning storm

Unfortunately, if you cut the top off a palm tree, it will die. Instead of budding or branching out, the top begins to slowly rot. That's why having a professional tree trimming at least twice a year is a good idea. If you don’t have experience with trimming your palm tree, you might accidentally cut the top off, leaving a dead and rotting tree in your wake.

Trimming your palm trees once or twice per year keeps them healthy and robust. Caring for palm trees includes cutting off brown leaves to prevent wildfires and pathway obstruction. However, you don’t want to over-trim the palm tree. Cutting too many branches off will weaken the tree and prevent future growth. And it’s essential to have a strong, healthy palm tree during hurricane season to prevent safety risks or property damage.

The speed of your tree root removal process depends on a few different factors, including the size and type of tree. However, the fastest method of killing tree roots is applying chemical herbicide, which starts working quickly and efficiently. But this removal method has its drawbacks, such as having a negative effect on the surrounding vegetation and landscaping. Other options like rock salt and stump grinding work relatively quickly and cause less damage to your yard.

You may be looking to identify maple trees to use for home improvement projects. In that case, you can tell hard maples by looking at their leaves. Leaves will have a U-shaped dip, or sinus, between the points, or lobes, of the leaves. Leaves of soft maples tend to have V-shaped sinuses.

If you already have the cut wood in front of you, look for a light, uniform color to identify hard maple wood and check for variations of red, gray, or brown streaks and an overall darker color in soft maple wood.
