WI Dwelling Contractor Certification #: 1156630 MN Building Contractor License #: BC6396401 ~*Fully Insured ~* Owens Corning certified installer ~* Certain Teed certified installer ~* GAF certified installer *Eric Becker is now a Haag Certified Residential Roof Inspector! HCRI #201201112

"I had a great experience with this company! I needed help removing the snow and ice dams from my roof. They called me back within a few hours, while other roofing companies called me back days later (or not at all). They communicated very well and made sure I understood what was being done and why. They also worked within my budget constraints as this was an unexpected expense. They guys worked hard, cleaned up after themselves, and had a great sense of humor. I have an older home that I've renovated and worked with a fair amount of people, mostly men who treat women like total idiots. Eric was never condescending to me and that was a pleasant surprise."

I mainly work on my own but do have two good hired hands to help on jobs as well. Depending on the work that is to be done, I either give a estimate or we can go by the hour, which ever is more cost effective for my customer.

Garages questions, answered by experts

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.

Garage doors generally last between 15 to 30 years, depending on many factors. Your location plays an essential role in your garage door’s lifespan—doors exposed to harsh elements like heavy rain or intense heat might not last as long as those installed in a milder climate. How often you use your garage door also factors into its overall lifespan. Generally, standard garage door springs can withstand 20,000 cycles, whereas tension springs typically last between 5,000 and 10,000.

An insulated garage door is a great long-term investment if it’s within your budget. They save energy and give the door year-round usability. In other words, the door pays for itself after a few nasty winters. Most modern garage doors already have a fair amount of insulation, so look into those options if you don’t feel comfortable splurging.

There are many signs that your garage door needs to be replaced, including: Visual signs of wear and tear Garage is slow to open and close or won’t open or close at all Jerky motions while operating Loose tracks or broken or worn rollers Uneven garage door when open or closed Sagging garage door Noisy operation even after lubricating the moving parts Broken or loose cords Higher energy bills, which could mean poor sealing or insulation

Standard garage door sizes for single doors range from 8 feet wide by 7 feet tall to 9 feet wide by 7 feet tall. An oversized single garage door would be 10 feet wide by 7 feet wide. The standard size for double garage doors is 16 feet wide by 7 feet high. However, some custom double garage doors can be as wide as 20 feet.
