"I've been using Dan's Service for the past 5 years. They have been extremely helpful in our plumbing needs. They installed a toilet, undermount sink, and faucet for us. Plus they do our maintenance on our heating and air conditioning. All of their service techicians are very experienced. They leave the premises neat and clean. I've been very pleased with their quality of work and performance."

"I pay $75 annually for a certain amount of appliances to be covered. What we didn't know is that you still have to pay a service call fee and if the technician deems the appliance still functional they will not fix it and if the technician says there is nothing wrong with the appliance, they will not fix it. In other words, the appliance has to be completely broken in order for them to fix it."

"Multiple bids were written for separate phases of the work. Costs came in at or somewhat less of what was priced. A number of times we added things to the work, quite a bit more than we originally planned, although size and scope were not great. Provider consistently showed up when he said he would, on time, stayed late, and was clearly concerned about doing a great job. In some cases, if he was not satisfied with the work, he did it over, e.g. repainting garage doors. His efforts and results were excellent."

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

It's recommended that you only use your circuit breaker for your water heater. Tacking on additional appliances, especially large ones like refrigerators, can overload the circuit and lead to electrical fires. Therefore, it's best to have separate circuits for each major appliance, particularly continuous load appliances, which use a lot of energy over prolonged periods of time.

Dehumidifiers typically use 300 to 700 watts of electricity per hour, whereas portable dehumidifiers use about 40 watts per hour. The exact amount of electricity your dehumidifier will generate depends on its capacity and energy efficiency. Generally, higher-capacity dehumidifiers generate more electricity than lower-capacity units, but they also usually have better energy efficiency over the long run.

To effectively service small appliances, perform routine checks for wear and tear, clean components regularly, and ensure all connections are secure.

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.

The lifespan of an oven depends on its type, usage, and maintenance. On average, an electric oven lasts around 13 years, while a gas oven can last slightly longer, around 15 years. With proper care and maintenance, some ovens can reach a lifespan of 15 to 20 years.

Several factors influence longevity. An oven's lifespan is primarily determined by its build quality, total cooking hours, and the stress from temperature fluctuations. This is why a more expensive, higher-quality oven may be a worthwhile investment. Ovens are generally durable appliances because they have fewer moving parts compared to others like washing machines or dishwashers, which means less wear and tear over time.

To maximize your oven's life, it is essential to clean and maintain it properly. A deep cleaning every three months can prevent buildup and ensure it continues to work correctly.
