The workers drove nearly 60 miles to my place, appeared precisely on time, did careful work that took exactly as long as the office predicted, were pleasant, were flexible about payment types, and provided a receipt and instructions for letting the work cure to prevent leaks. The cost precisely matched the estimate I was given when I phoned for an appointment. A good experience all around. There is an associated quarry, and a trucking operation. While the price for the work was significantly more than we'd anticipated would be necessary, we were new to private road repair and maintenance and had to hope that the recommended work and charges were reasonable and advisable. With heavy trucks coming soon and the winter weather not yet over, we had to rely on the contractor's integrity and reputation in the community in hiring a contractor. Al seemed sincere and forthright in discussing progress and points at which it appeared to him that additional work might be worthwhile to us in the long run, and he was careful to check with us to get work okayed before proceeding. His crew was easy to work with, and we liked Al and the others. Al explained his professional suggestions but did not pressure us, and we approved work incrementally to the point that we paid four times what we had originally planned, repairing some deep holes, areas of poor drainage, and years of rough usage and neglect. It would have been better to reach a clearer understanding about our preference for a basic repair of the whole stretch of road rather than an excellent repair of first one section and then another. We thought we had managed this but in fact were in the position, like people buying house siding in the old days, of finding two sides completely finished and two only just started. Given our lack of expertise with roadwork, this was unfortunate but perhaps not surprising. We do not feel that the company was at fault in this. In the end, we do have a good solid repair of everything but the parking area in front of our house, are happy with the quality of the work, and feel confident that it will be long-lasting. We will also feel free to call Al for future work, and will be in a better position as consumers to negotiate what we truly need. At the time of this writing, Justice is charging $235 per 15-16-ton truckload (at least for a job like ours), compared with $840 for a single truckload of the same size charged by his nearest competitor, Ashe Construction, in Randle, WA. They were once the place to go for auto repair. We took our cars there for years for any repair we needed, and were always pleased. But around 2009-10 there was a change, with new repair men, and new people in the office. I had one of my mirror's knocked part off my car while at the grocery store. I went in, and they said that they didn't have the part, but would order it and call me when it was in. Over the next few months, I would call them every other week to find out that they couldn't find a mirror for my suburban. Like an idiot, I felt committed and stuck with them until they finally ordered and got in the part. They ordered two, so I'd have a matched set. I was fine with this. They also said they'd repair the holes left by the accident at the grocery store. Instead, it seems they went a different route. My guess is they didn't want my car sides to not match ... so they ripped the other mirror off the other side too, to leave matching holes in both sides of my car. The new mirrors were quite cheap too. But mostly, THEY PUT HOLES IN MY CAR DOOR. And charge me $350 to do it. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I use Eagle Auto Repair in Forks now. A couple of days after the floor was installed, a significant crack developed across the entire width of the floor. Anthony saw this when he returned to seal the floor the next day. At that time he stated that cracking was something that could happen to a concrete floor and that he should have mentioned that to us before starting the job. Anthony stated he would redo the floor, but it was agreed that we would first see if we could repair the crack on our own. We waited 1 month before attempting repairs to be sure that the deck mud (concrete) used for the floor was completely cured. None of the several approaches and repair products we used to fix the crack produced an acceptable result. Consequently we decided that we would need to have the shower floor covered with tile. We contacted Anthony in mid-October to tell him of this decision and told him that we would be willing to supply the tile if he would provide the labor and grout for the repair.
When we didn't hear back from Anthony, we sent him a text message on 11/2 asking when he would be able to schedule the work. He replied: "I sent email to you for labor cost and date I'll check on that". When Anthony did not get back to us, we sent him 2 additional text messages (on 11/5 and 11/7) asking for his availability to complete the work. Because we were not getting a response, on 11/8 we contacted Anthony's helper for the original concrete floor install. He said that Anthony told him that he had sent us a bid for the job. When we told him we had not received a bid, he distanced himself from Anthony, stating that he was just there helping Anthony and that his business was separate from Anthony's. On 11/14 we received the following text message from Anthony: "I'm trying to find someone to come set and grout your tile not having any luck I'm not gonna be able to till mid to end of march". Waiting another 4 months to have a working shower was not acceptable to us, so we hired a local person to lay and grout the tile we purchased. On Jan 11, 2014, we emailed Anthony requesting a refund of the additional cost to us ($466.95) to install tile over the cracked shower floor. Our email included the invoice for this work. Our requested refund did not include the cost of the tile that we had to buy. On 1/12, Anthony stated in an email" "Got your email not sure about refund I was gonna charge $500 to set tile so looks like you save a little bit money." Maybe he was trying to be humorous, but having to spend an additional $900.00 (labor + tile) to fix his defective shower floor was not humorous to us. On 1/16 and again on 2/13, we emailed Anthony saying that we believe our requested refund was appropriate because the almost %6, 000 we paid him did not result in a working shower. There has been no further response from Anthony.

He was here the next day to repair it. This rebuild of the distribution box (that's what I call it, it might not be the correct term) was scheduled a few weeks in advance since we were not in any hurry to have the work done. He also reset the timers to give certain areas a deeper soak and set the custom program to save some water by skipping two days a week of watering. Jaimie worked for many years as a landscaper, so he's familiar with water requirements for the various types of vegetation in Maui. We liked working with Jaimie. He's dependable and does a good job.

When he started the job, he and his helper were hard at work from 9am to 5pm. Joseph is a complete professional! All went really well. "A delivery truck backed up too far into a loading dock on our business property damaging the wall and causing the overhead door to be inoperable. We had difficulty finding a competent contractor to take on this repair. Within a few days of contacting Tom, he visited the property and had an estimate prepared. We had some concerns about the large amount of deposit that he required. He did explain that obtaining a large deposit has become commonplace among contractors in the area so they will be paid. So we went ahead and sent him a check for the deposit. Once he had received the payment, he started the work within a couple of days and was completely finished in less than two weeks. He kept us informed along the way of his progress. The cost of the repairs seemed reasonable under the circumstances. I would not hesitate to use Tom again."

While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct home features. Porches offer a roof that protects from the elements when coming and going from the house. Generally, porches are on the front of your home. On the other hand, decks are generally built in the backyard of a home and offer no roof or protection from the elements, like rain or snow. Porches typically require less maintenance and upkeep thanks to the roof, but both features require regular cleaning and repairs to maintain good condition.
There are a few ways to make your deck look new without professional power washing. First, you can use either store-bought cleaners or dish soap and water to mop your deck regularly to clean off accumulated dirt. To clean your deck and remove mold, mix two gallons of warm water with a ½ cup of distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar, rinse the area, and then scrub with a stiff-bristled broom.
For an average deck of about 300 square feet, you can expect to pay around $100. However, if you have a spacious 1,000-square-foot deck or more, expect that cost to be closer to $300 to $400. Likewise, if it’s been a long time since you deep cleaned your deck, the deck professional might need extra time and to use deck-specific detergent, which will increase the overall cost.
You should have your deck professionally cleaned twice a year—once in the spring and once in the fall. A springtime cleaning wipes away grime and mold that accumulated during the wet winter months, making it sparkly clean for summer use. Likewise, cleaning your deck in the fall allows you to wash away grease and leftover mess from the fun summer months rather than letting them soak into your deck over the winter.
The cost to build a deck is $8,025 on average. However, this cost can range anywhere from $1,500 to $22,000, depending on multiple factors, such as size, materials, and deck type. You can expect to pay $30 to $60 per square foot when building a new deck.
Cedar decks are often the most cost-effective option, ranging from $4 to $9per square foot for materials. However, pressure-treated decking, which is resistant to rot, is more expensive, ranging from $15 to $25 per square foot for materials.
