"We had a great experience working with Wrangler Specialty Construction for our roof structure repair. Jeff and Coleman were the utmost professionals from start to finish. The team was honest, extremely hardworking, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. They explained the repairs clearly, kept us informed throughout the process, and completed the work with excellent attention to detail while ensuring everything was completed in accordance with the engineered plans. It's clear they take pride in the quality of their workmanship, and we feel confident knowing our home's roof structure has been repaired correctly. "We've had a handful of unsatisfying contractor experiences, so we tend to be a bit skeptical but our experience with Terra Firma set a new bar for us. Highly professional from start to finish. Initial consult was thorough, and didn't add on anything we didn't ask for or need. When they were working at the house the crew was prompt, professional, left the jobsite clean each day. Final result was exactly what we were expecting. Worth the investment, don't go with the lowest bidder on your foundation, it's not worth it. Thank you Terra Firma crew!"

"We had two building projects - replacing a decades-old retaining wall made from railroad ties, and replacing a large deck. We asked for bids, and liked the people at Sta-Built best. They are very professional, friendly, and did top-quality work. Our old deck was originally built by an "economy" contractor (what we could afford at the time), and the foundation was "shoddy", to say the least. We are so pleased with the new deck. The foundation is solid, and the new configuration fits our needs very well. Highly recommended!"

"

Getting a quote for the job was very straight-forward with JM Plumbing & Mechanical.  I sent a message to JM Plumbing and Mechanical through Angie's List message feature.  I described the 3 problems and received a prompt response with a quote of $350.  Jerry and TJ arrived ahead of the scheduled time, and got right down to business.  They let me know the sequence they would be working on the issues and immediately shut off the water and got to work.  After the work started, I mentioned another problem with the water running in the toilet and Jerry said he would look at that as well.  They were prepared with the parts they needed for the initial repair requests, but needed additional parts for the toilet repair so went to Home Depot to get those and then returned and completed the shower handle, toilet repair, and outside faucet repair very quickly.  Then TJ got under the house, found the leaky pipe and caulked that.  That job alone was a big relief to get taken care of.  Considering the crawlspace under this house, I had no idea how much something like this would cost to have fixed, but it was completed by TJ like it was no big deal.  Before leaving, two more issues came up unrelated to my original request.  Jerry was very sincere in offering to check those out as well and did so in a matter of minutes.  I could not be more satisfied with the value I received for $350 and would definitely use this company again.

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Due to the nature of basements, some level of waterproofing is necessary to prevent water from seeping in and causing damage. Some definitive signs that your basement needs waterproofing measures or needs existing waterproofing measures need to be updated include:

  • Water in your basement, including damp walls or puddles on the floor

  • Mold spots in your basement

  • Musty smells or odors

  • Warped doors or walls

  • Cracks in walls

  • Insect issues, such as cockroaches and termites

Yes, you can add a battery to your existing sump pump. There are batteries available that can be plugged into your existing system; however, most battery backups come as a complete system and act as a replacement for your existing sump pump.

A sump pump should be placed at least three feet deep in a pit. The rim of the sump pump basin should be level with your basement floor. If you find your pit is too deep, you can fill the bottom with gravel until the rim of the sump pump is flush with the floor.

Yes, professionals ensure proper grading and drainage to prevent water pooling.

The difference between an ejector pump and a sump pump lies in their purpose and design—an ejector pump functions to remove liquid gray water and soft solid sewage waste from your home. If you have a laundry room or bathroom in your basement, an ejector pump for your sewage tank prevents sewage from backing up in your washing machine or bathroom’s drains.

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.
