"All the concrete turned out great. It is sloped exactly as requested and the joints blend perfectly with my existing driveway. The gates turned out perfectly as well as everything else they did. Joe was always very responsive from the initial inquiry to the end of the project. He is easy to work with and accommodated the work I added to the project midway through. His crews were very friendly and easy to communicate with. The price was very competitive and he delivered what was requested. Due to size the project I posted a diagram of the desired finished product near the work site, which helped keep everyone on the same page."

"Luis and Benjamin are courteous and competent. They did a professional job on the brickwork. The work was done in a timely manner and they stayed until it was near dark to get it done as promised. Our neighbors have been very complimentary and have suggested that LLV be added to our HOC preferred contractor list."

"They are straight forward and honest. He told me what the driveway needed, explained why and what they were doing. They were fast and very thorough. James kept me posted on when they would arrive, when they were through. He met me in the afternoon and explained why they used the materials they did. And will check back again to see if anything would need to be touched up. Highly recommend these folks."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Yes, with colored finishes and decorative stamping for a personalized touch.

Concrete is typically the best material for a driveway if you’re looking for longevity, cost-effectiveness, and ease of maintenance. But, it’s not ideal for areas with annual freeze-frost cycles, nor is it the most attractive option—although you can get it stamped or painted. If your location is consistently below freezing, asphalt may be a better choice.

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.

It’s best to weigh the pros and cons of each material and decide on your priorities for your driveway. Gravel won’t be an appropriate choice if your driveway experiences heavy traffic. You’ll find that you need to level and top it off regularly, which could make the material a much more expensive option.

Whether it's worth it to install a heated driveway depends on how often you'll use it, your lifestyle, and your budget. If you live in a mild climate with little snowfall, then installing a built-in heated driveway system may not be worth it. If you live in a region that experiences mild snowfall, then a portable mat could work better. However, if you live in a region with heavy snowfall, it makes sense to invest in a built-in heated driveway.
