"I had such a great experience with this junk haul company from start to finish! They were professional, on time, friendly, and worked super fast. The team made the whole process stress-free and handled everything with care and efficiency. They cleared out way more than I expected and left the area spotless afterward. Pricing was fair, communication was excellent, and they had such positive energy the whole time. If you need junk removed, old furniture hauled away, or just wanna reclaim your space without the headache, I definitely recommend them. I’ll absolutely be using their services again!"

"I hired them to sheet-rock my new garage. I had an excessive number of outlets for them to work around, and they hardly flinched. They installed everything much faster than I expected. The quality is above expectation, especially considering it is a garage. They worked the drywall in and around my garage door opener as well, so no weird gaps in the drywall around pre-existing components. I had gotten 3 bids for this job, and Solis Interiors was very competitive. Lastly, they were very friendly and answered all my questions."

Garbage Removal questions, answered by experts

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.

On average, it takes one to four hours for a professional to install a garbage disposal. This includes removing the old unit, taking necessary measurements for positioning, removing and fitting new pipes, and installing the brand-new disposal system. If there are unforeseen issues, such as accessibility concerns, the process takes longer.

No, you do not need a garbage disposal to have a dishwasher. A dishwasher will work without one, and while it's rare to see a home with a dishwasher that doesn't have a disposal, it is possible. The two appliances pair well and are often installed together because a disposal simplifies meal cleanup.

However, your dishwasher should not be used as a replacement for a garbage disposal. Subjecting it to continuous food leftovers can lead to major clogs. If you choose not to install a garbage disposal, you should thoroughly rinse your plates or scrape excess food into the trash or a compost pile before loading them into the dishwasher to prevent plumbing issues.
