"Sadly, this is not a company you can trust. I hired them with a certain $ cap, and in the end it was doubled without consent from us. We hired them for a few broken sprinkler heads and the addition of one, and what they literally left us with, was a broken, leaking master valve that was NOT broken when they started. We literally WATCHED him break it and then take no responsibility for it. We are also left with one entire section of our yard with NO working sprinkler system. Topsoil should go down first. If the topsoil is next to your house, make sure the grade slopes away from the house to keep water from pooling against your foundation and possibly leaking into your basement or crawl space. Don’t cover your decorative landscape mulch with topsoil as that defeats the purpose of laying down the mulch. If you’re trying to create a certain soil composition to improve plant growth, you’ll likely want compost mixed into the topsoil instead of mulch.
