"I am a local elected official with a reputation for integrity, and I can confidently say this 1000% happened on Friday, January 24, 2025. Zero stars. This company is extremely shady. Jose, the co-owner, came out to repair some ceiling drywall but then claimed that a recently replaced pipe had broken as he was doing the drywall. This was an outright lie—he couldn’t even keep a straight face while trying to justify charging me more money to fix an issue he caused! Stay away from this company. They may be more “affordable” but it will cost you more when they claim there are other issues! His wife the “CEO” will probably come on this review and try to explain things always—but don’t buy it for a second. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. "I hired Joel and his company to install an overhead hood in our kitchen. He ended up drilling an extra hole in the flange of the hood to attach it to the ceiling because he did not have enough wood to attach to the ceiling as a mounting point for the hood. The orientation of the hood was slightly tilted as a result. Furthermore, his people cut through 80% of one of the joists in the ceiling to route the ducting to go outside and did not reinforce the joist afterwards. When I pointed out these issues, he asked me for an additional $310 to the $1210 I already paid for the service to rectify these problems his team caused. I refused and decided to have another contractor do the job correctly. Absolutely do not recommend."

Many peel-and-stick wallpapers aren’t moisture-resistant, so if you install them in high-humidity rooms, mold can grow behind the wallpaper. It’s best to reserve peel-and-stick wallpaper for bedrooms, living rooms, and other rooms with lower humidity levels. Not only does this minimize the risk of mold growth, but it also keeps the wallpaper from bubbling or peeling.

Limewash can be removed from brick, but the method of removal will depend on how long the limewash has been on the brick. If the limewash has fully dried—which happens after about five days—you’ll need to use a diluted muriatic acid mixture to remove it. If there are multiple coats of limewash, you may need to apply the acid mixture several times to fully remove it from the brick.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

Removing a wallpaper border requires the same process to remove full walls of wallpaper. Clear the area, spray down the surface with your hot water and vinegar solution or store-bought spray, wait 10 to 15 minutes, then scrape it off with a putty knife. Sometimes, border wallpaper lifts easier than larger sheets, so you can just peel it right off the wall by hand.

Wallpaper lasts an average of around 15 years, but there is some variance. The type of wallpaper matters, as vinyl wallpaper tends to last the longest—sometimes 20 years or more—while a peel-and-stick wallpaper, which is the easiest to install for DIYers, will usually only last for around five years. Exposure to high humidity, smoke, and UV rays from sunlight can also limit the lifespan of your wallpaper, as can heavy traffic in the installation area.
