Small jobs welcome

"Ward Engineering began working with Jared of Cornerstone Home Designs approximately 3 years ago to perform residential design work using Chief Architect design software. I find Jared to be the most capable Chief Architect designer I have ever worked with. Jared is very efficient and thorough at developing the residential Chief Architect models. In addition to being competent, Jared makes himself available to provide personal 1-on-1 training over the internet, which has been a huge blessing to our company and clients."

"We worked with Ali (sales manager) and Tony (project manager), who took the time to design a project that made sense for our property and our budget, made a number of suggestions and recommendations and were never pushy or tried to "sell" us on something. The crew really went above and beyond to provide top quality workmanship and overall we were in very good hands. Highly recommended!"

"We hired Eugen to paint our cabinets and to install a new backsplash in our kitchen. He did an excellent job with both. He paid attention to detail and he applied more layers of paint to the cabinets then originally planned. He stuck to his quote and didn t charge us any more even though he spent more time than he had estimated. He was efficient, friendly, and did a great job cleaning up afterwards."

"Kairos started off with a bang and got the demo done in just a few days, good clean up afterwards.  The plumbing and wiring turned out to be more complex than expected and Kairos did a great job of troubleshooting previously performed shoddy wiring and redid all the wiring in the room.  The new plumbing and wiring, including the heated tile floor, is rock solid.   We did a lot of changing of the scope of the project as we went along and Kairos adapted pretty well to our requests.  We spent a lot of money (for us) on commercial grade tile (marble and subway tiles) and glass tile, and the scope of that part of the project got quite complex as we designed our custom tile design in the shower surround.  In hindsight we should have hired the tile shop's specialty installers for that part of the project but Kairos did okay with it.  The project went on longer than expected due to unforeseen complications of wiring and tile work.  Overall the project came out great.  I would have great confidence in asking Kairos to do another project for us.  Kairos really shines with the tough stuff that you need to have done right: the plumbing and electrical stuff, and the "rough construction".   The owner, Kelly Alkire, is a nice guy and never got flapped as we kept expanding the scope of the project.  Kelly also managed to get along with the prickly on-site property manager who never gets along with anyone.   One final word: Kelly stands behind his work and comes back to take care of the fine tuning and minor trivia."

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

Improper hanging can damage the artwork, misalign it, and decrease its visual appeal, potentially compromising its structural integrity.

Yes, professionals can install decorative or colored glass block patterns for a unique look.

Part of the beauty of academia decor is that most textures and materials will feel right at home, provided they’re dark. Some common textures include natural wood, dark metals like iron, velvet, and leather. Incorporating these into your dark academia decor will make them look right at home. Glass is another option in some cases, so fill in gaps in your decor with small glass jars, or really lean on the gothic roots of dark academia with stained glass.

Professional holiday decorators are used to working with homeowners with varying needs, so the services can include nearly anything related to holiday decorations. Some services you might want to consider include the following:

  • Exterior light hanging

  • Other exterior decorations

  • Exterior tree decorating

  • Interior tree design and decorating

  • Removing holiday decorations at the end of the season

  • Packaging decorations after removal

  • Holiday decoration storage

On average, the cost to hire an interior designer or decorator is approximately $8,200. However, the total price can range widely from $200 for a simple consultation to $65,000 for a comprehensive whole-home design project. Most residential designers charge an hourly rate, typically between $50 and $200 per hour, though this can increase to $500 per hour in high-demand areas.

Several factors influence the final cost, including the size of your home, your location, the quality of decor, and the scope of services required. The price will be higher if services include not just consultation but also implementation, material purchasing, home staging, or digital design mock-ups. It's important to note that these cost estimates generally cover the designer's service fees and do not include the price of materials, furniture, or decor, which can be a significant additional expense.
