Customers say: True professional

"Mike is very nice, professional and hard working. My home has an edible landscape in raised beds with bark chips and hardscaping covering any areas where there are no beds. Mike regularly clears weeds and engages in trimming and pruning to keep my fairly large residential property looking nice. He has also removed a few fruit trees that I formerly planted too close to a pergola. When he semi-dwarf fruit trees, be removes them clear to the ground and then digs out any remaining stumps and large tap roots so that the empty ground can have the existing soil improved so that the ground can have additional plantings later is so desired. Mike speaks broken English, but is very edept at using the Translate app on his phone so that we can have full and complete conversations together. I very much enjoy having mike and sometimes his wife coming to my home to engaging in landscaping projects and give them my highest recommendation without reservation. Mike has been working for me for about 3 years. I believe that he is honest and trustworthy and he cleans up after he is done so that the worksite looks much better than it did before he started. "Salvador and his crew did an amazing job. We have 4 large oak trees that produce more leaves than we can handle and have just accumulated into a large pile over the last few years. In no time, they had the massive pile of leaves loaded into a truck and proceeded to edge, mow, weed, and trim up some bushes. The work they were able to complete in less than 5 hours would have taken us several days. He and his crew even hauled away an extra pile of junk that needed to be taken to the dump. They did an amazing job and I would not hesitate to hire them again in the future."

"Jesus is very knowledgeable and dedicated to providing quality service. My project involved removal of sidewalks, removal of tree stumps and aggressive overgrown tree roots, removing additional trees, sidewalks and stumps, and removing and replacing of the driveway. I am satisfied with the work and the results."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Very carefully. You should be cautious when using any of the above methods, as any one of them could lead to you accidentally killing desired grasses and plants. However, there are selective herbicides that can target certain plants over others. Look for a product that only affects the type of weeds you want to eliminate and spares the plants you want to keep.

Purchase a selective herbicide that targets clover and similar weeds but doesn't take out your grass. You can also keep it from growing with corn meal gluten or remove clover from your lawn manually at the start of the season as part of your lawn maintenance checklist.

All herbicides come with risks, but you can control and mitigate risks by discussing your options with your weed service company before application. Some companies use milder or sustainable herbicides more times per season to control weeds rather than one to two herbicide sprayings annually. You can also ask your professional about pet-friendly and kid-friendly services. In most cases, though, you can wait a few days after the application for the herbicides to soak into the ground, at that point they shouldn’t pose a risk to you or your family.

Burning is not a recommended method for controlling foxtail grasses. In a large pasture scenario, the fire moves too quickly through the weeds to effectively burn and kill the seeds, meaning they will resprout eventually. If your lawn is overrun with foxtails, it’s best to consult a lawn care professional for suggestions on how to permanently remove it from your property.

No, definitely not. Pulling weeds by hand is the single most effective way to remove them because you're eliminating the entire plant—roots and all—so it won’t have a chance to grow or spread. Setting time aside a few times per week to pull weeds can keep them at bay. If the number of weeds gets overwhelming, then you can resort to other methods.
