"Excellent service from Chris at Britescape. My outdoor light repair was a bit of a challenge as it also included a water feature. Chris made sure everything was taken care of as promised. Highly recommend Britescape!"

"Missed apt from 8-noon. I called them at noon. Showed up at 3pm. Not the right ladders for the listed height. Licensed electrician but $600 estimate for not even one hour to exchange a light fixture for another."

"Very please experience. He came out and diagnosed an electrical issue I was having with the outlets to the bathrooms. Replaced the GFI outlet and everything is now working. He was fast, professional and reasonably priced. I would definitely use this company again."

"Kris, the owner, was really friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in setting it all up. The bid came in about $3,000 cheaper than from a well rated competitor. Ken and Sofi did the work in 1 1/2 days. They were prompt, professional, and friendly. They explained their work nicely. They worked well with the inspector and the line crew from Seattle City Light They cleaned up everything nicely. We are very happy with the work and hope to use Ion Electric again for a remodeling project."

"Everything turned out fine. When it first arrived, it was damaged in the shipping. It took them quite a while to get something back to us, or even to call me back when I wrote to them. But then, once they got the ball rolling, it went very quickly. It took them probably about a month to even get back to me. The price was very good. Once somebody actually did speak with me, they were very responsive. They were pretty professional when I spoke to them. I just think that they were light on manpower."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

The cost of lamp repair generally ranges from $30 to $150, with an average cost of around $75. Common repairs like rewiring or replacing a switch typically cost around $60 and $80, respectively. The final price depends on factors such as the type of lamp, the complexity of the issue, and the parts required. Keep in mind that repair costs may be higher for ornate or antique lamps. It's a good practice to ask for a price quote from a professional lamp repair service to determine if the investment is worthwhile.

If you’ve gone through the troubleshooting checklist for your motion detector flood light and it’s still not working, it’s time to consider a new one. Older models that need frequent fixes can be unreliable. Newer flood lights feature advanced technology that improves your lights’ sensitivity and overall performance. If you’re fed up with unexpected darkness, investing in a new light can give you the lighting you need to feel secure.

If half of a string of Christmas lights is out, it is likely because of a single burned-out, loose, or broken bulb within that section. Long strands of lights often contain more than one circuit, so when one bulb fails, it can cause the entire circuit (or half the strand) to go dark. To fix this, inspect the unlit section and test each bulb to ensure it is tight and functioning properly. Replacing the faulty bulb or repairing a damaged shunt will typically solve the problem.

Yes, professional landscape lighting is typically worth the investment. Installing a lighting system can improve your home’s curb appeal, safety, and security, and it can also deter burglars. It adds value to your home by creating a brightly-lit outdoor space you can use after dark and making the property more appealing to potential buyers. According to the National Association of Realtors, landscape lighting can add up to $2,500 to your home’s value, and on average, this type of home improvement has a 50% return on investment.

Outdoor lighting enhances security, improves curb appeal, and extends the usability of outdoor spaces.
