"This has been the worst home repair experience I have ever endured. Josh Griggs of Breaking Ground LLC was disrespectful of my home, my belongings, in addition to having little to no work ethic and produced a sub-par product in my opinion. The pincacle of his atrocities is possibly exposing me, my family and all his employees to cancer causing agents for 2 entire weeks before even considering having insolation tested for aesbestos. Ignorance, arrogance and pure disregard is how I best describe my experience. I hired this company to fix a crack in my ceiling and 6 weeks and almost 2 thousand dollars later i had a single sheet of drywall poorly hung over some insolation and an that was considerably more than the second room he demo'd had completed. Normally I wouldn't write a negative review because I am a small buisness owner and know the negative effects word of mouth can be but the horrendous experience I've had with Josh Griggs has made me feel obligated to protect all his future clients from the experience me, my family and my home have endured. To write all the atrocious behavior and practices would take pages and many hours... Hours I have to utilize fixing the job this company did in my home. See pictures of property damaged, electronics damaged, holes made in walls, bad workmanship and many other awful results of hiring this company. I think it's safe to conclude that I do not recommend hiring breaking ground for any jobs and regret my choice immensely."

NatureScape Northwest LLC , Blent Rice & David Glaze, share a common vision. With a combined experience of more than Three decades, we provide professional landscape design and quality construction service to our Pacific Northwest Customers. As a result, our design themes and construction practices help showcase what mother nature has already perfected.

"I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Naturescape Northwest for a small landscaping job they did for my mother-in-law. The project involved installing a weed barrier and some river rock into small, already prepared planters and planting four small grasses. Despite the simplicity of the task, the execution was subpar and far from what one would expect from a professional landscape company. First and foremost, they charged over $1000 for this minimal job, which is outrageous given the poor quality of work. My mother-in-law specifically asked them to use the existing basalt rock as edging. Rather than lifting the existing rock, and putting the weed barrier under it, they stopped the weed barrier a few inches from it and merely put the river rock over it. They even placed the river rock right over an existing sweet pea plant without bothering to remove it. The end result looked amateurish, like something a kid down the street might have done, not a professional landscaper. When I contacted Blent to express my dissatisfaction, he blamed my mother-in-law, stating that it was what they bid and she signed it. I asked for a detailed breakdown of materials and labor costs, which he flatly refused to provide. Moreover, Blent called my mother-in-law afterward, further bullying her and refusing to take any responsibility for the shoddy work. It is clear that Naturescape Northwest took advantage of an older, single woman, charging an exorbitant price for substandard work. Their lack of professionalism and accountability is appalling. I would never recommend this company to anyone and strongly advise others to avoid doing business with them. This experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing."

Since you’ll likely be digging a trench to install your yard drainage system, this is a good time to complete other tasks that involve digging up your yard, including: Sprinkler system installation Lawn reseeding Regrading your yard Redesigning your landscaping If your drain is under a walkway or driveway, your contractor must also remove those materials. This is a great time to consider upgrading your hardscaping features, especially if they’re nearing the end of their life span.

Surface-level tree roots might only pose a small threat, such as being a tripping hazard or obstacle when you mow your lawn. But if mature tree roots start growing in the direction of your home’s foundation or plumbing system, it could be a real problem. Cutting small tree roots out before they grow too large can keep your home safe without removing the whole tree.

If shade is a priority for you, then panting elm trees is a fine choice. A full mature elm tree has enough aesthetic appeal for some folks that it could add value to your home.

That said, never plant elm trees too close to your home, sewer line, or sidewalks, as their roots can damage these, which can lead to costly repairs.

Mid to late spring is the best time of year to mulch. If you do it too early in the spring, the mulch could slow down the warming process of the soil and affect how well plants grow. By mid to late spring the temperatures are usually steadying, making it an ideal time to spread mulch.
