"I have used this Roofing on two different family projects. One was the complete roof retiling of a standard size family home and the most recent project, was for the repair and laying of new roof sheets on the back sun room. Each time I found them to be helpful, co-operative and very professional. On our recent project, Pete was our first point of contact who made the whole experience stress free and quick. Ari and Elijah helped in choosing the materials, right down to the colour and then completing the job in only two days."

"I could not be more pleased with the install work done by Evergreen Construction. Edwardo was fast, professional and very detail oriented in the work he and his team did on my new kitchen. He was able to build my RTA cabinets and install them, inclusive of some custom work in 2 days. I would highly recommend Evergreen if you are looking for quality, professions work at a reasonable price."

"Vasa construction called me right away off Angie’s list and came out and offered a competitive quote the same day. I hired them and they started working 2 days later. They were very professional and kept my home clean throughout the whole process. I will use them again."

"I wanted to take a moment and share what a great job Serge did installing white subway tile backsplash in my kitchen! He was honest, polite, forthright, accurate and his craftsmanship skills are excellent! I am very satisfied with how it turned out and I would recommend anyone in the area looking for some professional help on those tougher home renovation projects!"

"Dave Thacker is old school. He gives you a quote for your project and sticks to it. If he finds something he missed, he doesn't charge extra and fixes it. He gives fair quotes, works fast, and is really a pleasure to work with. While he was at my home my old fence blew down. I had him fix that too. Both the deck and the fence look professionally made, like the professionals that built them! I would definitely refer a friend or relative to PlanTrak!"

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

While carpenters and woodworkers perform similar tasks, their focus differs. A carpenter is typically responsible for the structural woodwork involved in construction, such as framing, installing sheathing, hanging kitchen cabinets, and installing trusses. In contrast, a woodworker handles more intricate and custom projects, like building custom furniture, installing wainscoting, and creating detailed interior trim and moldings. Based on these definitions, many woodworkers can perform the tasks of a carpenter, but it's always best to discuss your specific project with a professional to ensure they have the necessary skills.

It is common for a contractor to ask for a down payment before starting a project, especially for jobs that require purchasing materials and equipment or hiring a crew. The deposit amount can range from 10% to 50% of the total job cost. While a request for up to 50% is not unusual, a contractor should not ask for more than that, and you should never pay for a project in full before the work has begun. To protect yourself, always discuss payment terms before starting and have a written contract that outlines the project timeline and expectations. Additionally, be sure to hire reputable contractors and check their licensing and insurance before the project begins.

Professionals ensure safe, thorough repairs using quality materials, extending the life of your structure.

A contract should outline the scope of work, timelines, costs, payment schedule, and materials used for clarity and protection.

The boards between floor joists are called bridging or blocking boards. These are the shortest pieces of wood in the flooring system—with beams being the longest and joists sitting somewhere in the middle—and they serve to reinforce the joists and help provide even support to the flooring above. Bridging specifically helps cut down on uneven and creaking floors in your living area.
