"They cleaned my roof with high preasure air instead of water because my roof had a lot of debris and no moss. When they were done not a bit of debris remained. Even the deck and yard and driveway are cleaner than when they arrived. They even cleaned my skylights. I will have them come back on a yearly maintainance service to make sure I get the most out of my roof investment. I recommend that you do the same."

"All around great experience with Artisan. Called during a string of very rainy days when I know gutter companies were pretty busy. Josh answered the phone and I didn’t have to leave a VM which is not expected but always nice. It was late afternoon and he had someone out for an estimate on the next working day. When I called back they had me on the schedule quickly and showed up right on schedule. Communication was awesome, our overflow issues are completely gone so we’re very happy with the work, and they were super easy to schedule with. Will definitely be using them again next time we need gutter or other home maintenance/cleaning services."

"*****Five Stars and more!Very pleased with their job. They did the work (Gutters cleaned on 3 different houses) soon after we called, they were on time, AND they gave us a good price. Anthony Howard, the guy that performed the job, was hard working and did a great job and was personable to deal with. We will definitely put these guys on our list of people to call back each year to get our gutters cleaned."

Gutter Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Use of harnesses and ladders ensures safe roof access.

Absolutely—and lots of it. Overflowing water from your gutters can damage your siding and your roof. All of the moisture getting into the cracks and crevices of your home can lead to mold or mildew problems down the line. In addition, when water pools around your home, it needs a place to go—and sometimes it ends up inside the house, creating a very unwanted flood.

Hiring a local gutter cleaner costs an average of $119 to $228. For many homeowners, it’s worth bringing in a pro to make sure there’s a regular cleaning schedule and that the job is done thoroughly. A pro can also inspect your gutters and roofline and flag any issues before you start experiencing costly mold, rot, or water damage.

Walking on the roof to clean gutters is unsafe and not recommended due to significant safety risks. It is especially dangerous on steep or slippery roofs, or if the roof is wet or covered in leaves, which increases the chance of a fall. In addition to personal injury, walking on the roof can damage shingles, potentially leading to water leaks. Instead of walking on the roof, use a sturdy ladder positioned on a stable surface to access the gutters. Be aware that using a ladder also carries risks, as it can be difficult to maintain balance while performing the work. You can also use ground-based cleaning tools. For safety reasons and to prevent damage to your roof, hiring a professional to clean your gutters is the best and safest option.

Whether or not you can use a pressure washer to clean your gutter guards depends on the type of gutter guard you have and the strength of the pressure washer. Most gutter guards can handle a low-pressure setting but check first. If you’re unsure if your gutter guard is designed for pressure washing, check your manufacturer’s instructions, ask a pro, or use a garden hose to clean the gutter guard instead. As gutter guards age, they become less resistant to the strong forces of a power washer, so treat older gutter guards with more care.
