"We absolutely love our newly renovated kitchen!!! Jeff Seppi at Cedar Pacific was absolutely wonderful to work with!!! We have never done a project this big and we were very fortunate to find Jeff! Very personable and easy to talk to!! We worked together to design our dream kitchen and he gave us ideas of things we hadnâ t thought of. Heâ s has several years experience as a contractor and it showed! He kept us informed of everything during the entire process. I highly recommend Jeff if you are thinking of remodeling."

"Meerwais was professional, knowledgeable, has quiet competence and was focused on repairing all my cabinet doors and hinges. He was always prompt and ready. He even had to return a second time because one cabinet needed extra work. I appreciated his determination for quality service. Thx Meerwais!"

Small jobs welcome

"Maria and Sergey were pleasant to work with. They listened to what we were looking for and help make suggestions. Sergey's work is amazing, we are incredibly happy with the cabinet doors he built for us. They add a bright beauty to our kitchen and bathrooms. We would recommend him to anyone looking for quality cabinet refacing."

"We are in the process of selling our home and were scheduled for another open house right before Christmas. Although the kitchen is attractive, it is old and the cabinets need replacing or resurfacing, several realtors had advised that we not do this work since we would not recover the cost in the sale.  It is likely the new owners would want to remodel the kitchen to their own taste. However, several cabinets with pull out drawers and rotating shelves were not functioning properly and the doors of these and several hall closets showed unsightly and noticable gaps. We had difficulty finding any professional cabinet makers willing to do a repair job. We finally found Kaci Woodworks and Seattle Cabinet Repair. Hakim, the owner, got back to us within hours. He listened carefully to our needs and asked us to email photos. After determining that he would be able to meet our needs, we were able to find a time when he would be in Whatcom County for another larger job (since he doesn't usually travel this far for cabinet repairs). He arrived punctually at the agreed time, discussed the job with us and promptly set to work.  He carefully removed items from the cabinets as needed and repaired the drawer slides, replacing parts he had with him.  He brought all the necessary tools and was extremely courteous, professional and accommodating throughout the 5 hours it took for him to do all the repairs. He replaced items in the cabinets with our guidance. We were completely satisfied with the results which left the kitchen's appearance markedly improved and provided us with smoothly functioning cabinets and closets with no gaps. For a modest price, we now have a kitchen that looks very presentable to prospective buyers and gives us cabinets we no longer need to struggle to use. We wish we had done it years ago!

"Kitchen Plus did a fantastic job and were On Time and On Budget. Sophie was our Designer, she was easy to work with, responsive to our needs, and gave her design expertise. We wanted to do a mixture of lower cabinet reface and upper/island/corner cabinet new construction. Erik was our Project Manager. He really takes pride in his work, focuses on fine tuning the installation and even offered a great suggestion of adding corner shelves vs. a false cabinet front which ended up being a lovely finishing touch. Erik posted a schedule of what would be happening each day, as well as having a check list for him each morning of questions we might have from the previous day. The process was streamlined and amazingly went along as scheduled. I would gladly do another project with this great group of people."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

Most assemblies take 1-3 hours, but larger units or those requiring wall mounting may take longer.

In a kitchen installation, starting with the foundation and structural elements before moving on to the finishing touches is essential. Framing, plumbing, and utilities should go first, followed by cabinetry and countertops, then plumbing fixtures and new appliances. Flooring, paint, tile backsplashes, and similar finishing touches should get installed last.

The 1/3 rule is a design guideline used by interior designers and cabinet installers to select appropriately sized pulls for cabinets and drawers. The rule suggests that for a balanced and cohesive look, a cabinet pull should be approximately one-third the height of the cabinet door or one-third the width of the drawer face. This guideline helps create a symmetrical appearance because the human eye tends to follow the length of the pull across the cabinet face.

While the 1/3 rule is a helpful starting point, it is not the only option. If a measurement falls between available pull sizes, it's generally best to size up. For an ultra-contemporary aesthetic, you can also opt for full-width pulls that span the entire drawer.

It’s much less expensive to build your own garage shelves, and you’ll still get stable, long-lasting, and sharp-looking shelves. Garage storage systems cost between $615 and $2,635, with the national average of about $1,455. Building DIY garage shelves typically costs less than $500, and the quality of a DIY garage shelving unit will almost always be higher than what you could buy premade for the equivalent price.

It depends on whether you buy pre-made stacked cabinets or construct them from scratch. If you build added cabinets from scratch, you can expect it to take several hours or days to build each one and then another two to three days for installation. Then, after painting your new cabinets, you should allow a few weeks for the paint to dry thoroughly before installing them over your existing cabinets.
