"Leo and helper rebuilt outdoor stairs and did a very nice job. He was quick and professional from first contact to job completion. But, he underestimated wood needed for replacement of deck boards and he didn’t bid the cleanup/disposal of removed wood so the quote was short by $300. I would recommend Leo just be sure the quote includes everything you want done."

"The technicians for my Para Home Services were professional, thorough, and efficient. We did a walk through of the home where I could express concerns for them to look into. Within one visit general cleaning and maintenance on appliances, vent hoods, other basic areas of the house I hadn't thought to double check fire alarm battery replacement were completed, along with patching a hole the the roof I was unaware of! As a first time home buyer with very little free time, this service is great to keep you up to date on regular home maintenance you may not think to do and proactively identify areas of concern to keep an eye on."

"These folks are fantastic! We started with a rickety, second story, 600 sq. ft. deck, with past-its-prime cedar decking and muddy ground underneath. Eagle Outdoor Living took on the job, and now we have a 900 sq. ft. Timbertech deck with a carport and dry work/storage/leisure space under it, protected with metal roofing and seamless guttering to keep the rain out, and concrete pavers under all of it. What an improvement! It was a complicated project, and Rocky and Wendy took care of everything, from getting the building permits approved to the finishing paint touches. We highly recommend Eagle Outdoor Living for any outdoor construction job you can think of!"

"Jon completed a railing and small barrier fence on the concrete stairs leading to our basement I felt that the bid he gave for the job was He contacted me in a timely manner with information about the job and updates on arrival time on the workday. The job included some materials from a local big box store, the quality ofwhich he was not happy with. He took the time to get a replacement railing because. “ he didn’t want to have his name on a job done with poor quality materials. He completed the job in a very timely manner. My husband and I are very happy with the completed project Jon is an excellent contractor I couldn’t have asked for better work. I would definitely hire him again."

"The wind blew the tarpaper off my shed roof during a rainstorm. I live in a one-bedroom house and my shed is essential for storage. I have no idea how to find a roofer, so I asked Angi. Randy of Roof4Life was the first to call, and he sent Giovanni Bozzolo to estimate the price. Gio asked good questions and gave me a reasonable quote which I accepted. The following Saturday the sun came out and a crew arrived to give me a new roof in just a few hours. I couldn't believe how easy they made it look and how quickly the shed was made better than it had ever been! The workers were experts at their craft and fun for me to watch. I am pretty sure my job was not as big as many jobs Roof4Life has done, but they made me feel like their most important customer. You should check them out!"

The average cost to hire a woodworker for a project in your home is around $65 per hour, but hourly rates can range from $35 to $250 or more, depending on the experience and skill of the woodworker. Your total woodworking project cost will depend on the complexity of the work, the type of wood, the number of projects, and any other materials your project requires. You could hire a professional woodworker to create everything from a custom cabinet to ornate, unique staircases.
Hiring a woodworker can be expensive, depending on the job, but it’s very often well worth the investment. Woodworkers are able to provide custom pieces of furniture and handmade construction to present a finished product that is exactly to your specifications. If you have a specific vision for a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture or home feature, the cost of hiring a professional woodworker is worthwhile. Plus, you’ll often get a higher quality product than what you could buy in stores for a fraction of the price.
Every woodworker has different skills and experience, so we recommend asking the following questions when hiring a woodworker for your project:
How long have you been in the woodworking industry?
What experience do you have with my type of project?
Do you have customer references I can speak with?
How long do you expect my project to take?
What is my recourse if I have an issue with your work?
Do you charge hourly or per project?
Will you work on-site or in your own workshop?
Does your fee include the necessary post-job clean-up?
While they perform similar tasks, a carpenter is responsible for the woodworking that goes into construction—like framing, installing sheathing, and hanging kitchen cabinets—while a woodworker tackles more intricate and custom projects—like building custom furniture and installing wainscoting. Based on these definitions, most woodworkers can tackle the jobs of a carpenter, but you should always ask about your specific project when choosing a woodworker to ensure they have the necessary skills to tackle the job.
It may seem simple to install trim, wainscoting, and other finishing wood in your home, but the work is complicated and often frustrating. Getting small trim pieces to line up evenly without gaps and look streamlined in a finished product is a real challenge for DIYers, even if you have the necessary tools. We recommend hiring a professional woodworker for these more intricate projects. They’ll get the job done more quickly, and they’ll have the experience necessary to make everything look neat and clean to add more value to your home.
