Located in Kent, WA. We service heat pumps, furnaces, boilers and water heaters, both tank and tankless water heaters and we repair, clean, sell, and upgrade all makes and models.

"Surprised to see some of the bad reviews here because we've had only a great experience with Hayes. We had a much larger project than most people: we were makes some updates to our ADU and it was an opportune time to not only add a mini-split for the ADU but also make some non-trivial updates to our basement ductwork, which Hayes did at a reasonable price. Additionally, they replaced our house's dated heater with a heat pump (and secondary furnace). While we were waiting for work to begin we had them come service our tankless water heater because the exhaust outside our home smelled weird and they found moisture *inside* the unit (didn't charge us anything for the servicing since you can't service a unit in this shape). We ended up hiring them to replace that (by the way, they didn't switch off our hot water until replacement time - we were OK to use our old unit in the interim), which they did when they came for the other work. Additionally, they replaced the condensate drain pipe (several feet long) the previous homeowner had done a shoddy job and they were leaking (an issue we were aware of). I am not sure if they charged us for this in their original quote but am doubtful (as they were doing so many things for us the cost for this particular work was lower than my father in law, for whom they replaced a water heater for unrelated reasons). To add to all this: the crew was super professional and everyone was masked when interacting with us. I'm extremely happy not only with our new heat pump and mini split but with the ductwork (they made some adjustments for no added charge to improve air flow to our second story). Oh, and if that wasn't enough: there was an ugly hole in an old brick chimney in our basement used decades ago for an older heating system, which they cleaned out and filled in for us without any additional charge. Some contractors are a pain to reach, but not Hayes. Their office was easy to reach, as was our sales person, Bill, who was even easily available to us when I had a question after the install was done. Would certainly recommend Hayes to others."

Washington Plumbing and Heating is a FULL SERVICE company specializing in ALL aspects of PLUMBING, HEATING and MECHANICAL work for RESIDENTIAL and COMMERCIAL projects. Our highly skilled staff are experts at SERVICE and REPAIRS. We are a licensed, bonded and insured contractor with over 25 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.

"Konstantine is simply the best. He is skillful in heating and plumbing, and also very kind. He has done several jobs for us recently. He fixed our water heater and replaced our kitchen faucet. For our water heater, he replaced a vault that regulated hot water. Two weeks later, the water tank was blockedby minerals, and he returned to flush our water tank for free. Our new kitchen faucet is a Moen Pulldown Kitchen Faucet. While playing with it, I accidentally let the hose go down to the sprout. I called Moen support and was told that it was almost impossible to get the hose out and I should buy a new faucet. Konstantine came and wasable to get the hose out in less than 10 minutes. Again, he refused to accept payment."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Before you hire a natural gas plumber, it’s a good idea to get quotes from multiple pros to find the best value. When speaking with prospective plumbers, ask them if they’re licensed to work with gas lines, what precautions they take to ensure safety during the project, and how to handle an emergency if there’s a leak after the job. You may also want to know about warranties or guarantees, additional costs, how to prep your home, and if you’ll need to relight your pilot lights.

The cost of repairing a gas leak depends on the type of leak, its severity, and how difficult it is for the repair technician to reach it. Some of the most common gas line repair costs, on average, include:

  • Cap a gas line: $75–$150

  • Gas system inspection: $150

  • Pressure test: $75–$500

  • Damaged or corroded pipe: $6–$7 per linear foot

  • Repair gas leak: $120–$5,000

In most cases, a gas stove should be installed by a licensed plumber. Connecting gas appliances carries many risks, chief among them a fatal gas leak. If your home is already set up with the proper gas hookups, you may be able to DIY the installation (or save money by hiring a local handyperson or basic appliance installer near you rather than a plumber). If you’re ever in doubt, however, we recommend going with a professional master plumber.

Most qualified local plumbers in your area should be able to help with this job. However, it's always best to check with your utility company before starting any gas-related project. Speak with them about your needs and request recommendations for licensed plumbers who can pull permits and properly install the line.

Some natural gas furnaces can be converted to propane with a conversion kit, but not all models are compatible. Consult a licensed HVAC pro to determine if conversion is possible and cost-effective for your system. The process involves changes to burner orifices and safety controls, and must be completed to code.
