Konstantine is simply the best. He is skillful in heating and plumbing, and also very kind. He has done several jobs for us recently. He fixed our water heater and replaced our kitchen faucet. For our water heater, he replaced a vault that regulated hot water. Two weeks later, the water tank was blockedby minerals, and he returned to flush our water tank for free. Our new kitchen faucet is a Moen Pulldown Kitchen Faucet. While playing with it, I accidentally let the hose go down to the sprout. I called Moen support and was told that it was almost impossible to get the hose out and I should buy a new faucet. Konstantine came and wasable to get the hose out in less than 10 minutes. Again, he refused to accept payment.

Turned out to be a complicated clog under house. Had to come back with a camera, and was very reasonable on cost.

We shut off the water to our home and called plumbers we had worked with before. None could commit to a quick response. We were in a real bind due to scheduling conflicts and the need to get the water hooked back up. We called Washington Plumbing and Heating and they committed to a two-hour time window that same afternoon. Konstantine showed up not only on time, but early. He diagnosed the problem and quickly fixed it. He also suggested some potential steps we could take to avoid a water-pipe burst in the future. He was extremely professional and clearly someone who takes pride both in his work and his customer service. And the cost was remarkably reasonable. We will use Washington Heating and Plumbing for all our plumbing needs in the future. We could not be happier with the experience.

Blockage cleared (was way down under house), recorded a week later. Came back with scope, cleared again, and didn't charge full price.

Konstantine Aselas came and carefully cut the CPVC to install copper piping from the back wall and fit the new pressure relief valve and the brass ball valve shutoff, anchoring the works to the side walls of the narrow closet. He tagged everything, so the installation is as neat and clear as can be. He covered all the floors before he started and made sure things were spotless when he left.

Two weeks earlier we had Washington Plumbing and Heating clear a clogged toilet soil pipe after our housecleaner lost a sponge down the toilet.  The charge was $196 including tax and standard service-call fee.  The job was apparently done successfully, but the toilet again became clogged a few days ago.  We called again to make another unclogging appointment.  The technician arrived on time, unclogged the toilet with more robust equipment, and -- without any evidence that the two clogs were related, refused any payment -- not even a tip!

While the plumber was 35 minutes late he did call prior to the time range and let us know he was going to be late.  The repair ended up being very minor (tightening a bolt) and he wouldn't charge us (or even take cash as a tip!).  We asked about hands free faucet installation and he said that they kept data on which brands worked best but told us we had a great faucet and didn't have to switch out.  Even my 15 year old daughter was impressed with his professionalism and honesty!

Konstantine identified the problem as a loose faucet connection.  The fix was so quick that he declined to charge me for the service call.  I was very impressed with his professionalism and fairness.  I hope the next plumbing issue I have is more substantial so it makes it worth his effort.

We purchased a house in July 2014 with a gas furnace that had been inspected by Washington Plumbing and Heating, Inc. on June 17, 2014. On Monday, October 27th, morning at 4:36 am, we woke up to our ADT alarm going off.  I ran to the living room, thinking there was an attempted break-in.  Instead, the phone rang and it was ADT asking if we were all ok, because our carbon monoxide detector had gone off.  My husband opened all the windows and doors and by the time the Fire Department arrived, they were unable to detect any CO.  They advised us to call PSE, so later that day, a technician from PSE arrived to test our furnace.  It had dangerous levels of CO present-- 2000 ppm.  He told me that they shut the gas off when there's 100 ppm present.   We had two companies come out to look at the furnace to see if our American Home Shield Warranty would replace the furnace.  Both times, the request was denied because the damage to our furnace was deemed a pre-existing condition.    This furnace was "inspected and maintained" by this company on June 17, 2014, yet after only a few weeks of operation this fall, it was producing potentially lethal levels of carbon monoxide.  Three different people have now looked at the furnace and stated that the burners were corroded. The extent of the damage could not have happened in the three or so weeks we have used the furnace since we have lived here and certainly did not occur after June 17, 2014.   We would like reimbursement for the purchase of a new furnace and ductwork; reimbursement of the $75 service fee we were charged from American Home Warranty and reimbursement for the purchase of two space heaters-- $29.99 and $69.99 plus tax.   I emailed the company and received two emails back.  On November 4th, I was told ?we will reply back to you on or before the end of next week.?  On November 17th, I was told ?we will have your response tomorrow.? I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the company never responded to them.  The Better Business Bureau subsequently closed the complaint as ?unanswered? on December 2, 2014 and the company?s rating dropped from an A to a D-.   My complaint is now available on the BBB?s website for the general public to see.   We contacted a lawyer who sent a demand letter to Washington Plumbing and Heating, Inc. on December 11th.   We asked for a response within seven days.   The company never responded.
Response from Washington Plumbing and Heating Inc
"In response to this complaint we would first like to state the fact that the person making this complaint is not our customer nor was ever a customer of ours in the past. We have never been hired to do any work for this person at any time and have never made any representations of warranty or guarantees implied or in writing. In fact until we received an email complaint to our general information email box, we had never had any contact with this person. When we responded to the email complaint we stated that we would investigate the complaint and asked if there was any additional information that could be provided to assist us in our investigation and response…there was no reply whatsoever. In a second email when we needed additional time to look into these allegations we again asked if there was any additional information that could be added to help assist us in our reply, again no reply, no additional information. Upon uncovering additional facts during our one-sided investigation it became clear that the general claims and allegations were false, misleading and an attempt to coerce our company into paying for a new furnace under threat of postings of bad reviews. The furnace in question was at least 20+ years old. From the very first email and demand of compensation for a new furnace, this person was making threats that were based on false information. We have more than ample facts and proof that the allegations and innuendo made are not truthful as to our involvement or actions and responsibilities. The persons that are alleged to have looked at and denied warranty claims for the furnace that this person writes about are subcontractors for American Home Shield, a home warranty insurance provider which has had 4435 complaints filed with the BBB in the last 3 years! Our company has had 0 complaints with the BBB in the last 8 years…this is the first complaint and it is from a person that was never a customer of ours. In addition to the limited information we have provided in this response we have several pages of additional facts and information that we cannot provide in this forum that support our position of no responsibility and/or involvement with the allegations made regarding this complaint. We hope that the facts speak loud and clear in this complaint. We hope the person making these allegations come to their senses and retract the false and misleading complaints posted on this forum and all other postings. We have never had to take legal action against any customer in the history of our company and hope not to in this instance, but we cannot stand idly by while our hard earned stellar reputation is defamed. It is important to us as a company when we have not done anything wrong to stand for what is right and fair, we will not be bullied or coerced into any compromise because of unwarranted threats or actions using the internet and review websites to compensate someone for something we are not responsible for. Shame on you Angie’s List for allowing unverified reviews to alter our customer’s perception, par for the course as the ratings of Angie's List have plummeted in the past few years. Honest, clear, objective and factual information is welcome, but vindictive, misleading, untruthful trash talk should not be allowed"

They called me to tell me I purchased the wrong heater and what one I needed to order. Sears had a limited choices so I ended up purchasing the one he referred which was the correct one through them. They were very knowledgeable and really knew about water heaters unlike my experience with Sears.

It was not an emergency situation but I was pleasantly surprised to have them on site within about 3 hours of my initial call. I was given an assessment of the problem and although the garbage disposal we currently have is an inferior plastic model, I was not pressured to replace the unit. (Replacing the unit would have resulted in a bill of over $700 because apart from replacing the unit, some pipes would have to be changed)

The repairs were done fast and cleanly and we are very happy with the result.

Response and service were quick and professional. Work quality was great and prices were fair. When there was difficulty with one of the toilets a few days later, he returned the next day and fixed the problem.

I worked with Konstantine on all these jobs. He is absolutely top notch and a standout for me as a service professional. Extremely knowledgeable, but also open, curious, and a great communicator. He is probably not the least expensive, but for what you get, very very reasonable. Highly recommended plus.

This is the 3rd time we have used Washington Plumbing and Heating for plumbing issues. Jim was our plumber, and he was fantastic! He was very professional, neat, arrived within the scheduled time frame, and did excellent work with attention to detail and quality. He did a great job of explaining the issues and work performed. He never tried to sell us other services but seemed very honest and interested in helping us to be informed so that we could make good decisions.
Their pricing is probably not the least nor most expensive. They charge and give estimates based on the work being performed rather than the amount of time spent. The work seems worth the value. They did not rush through the work. They do give a 5% discount to Angie's List members and repeat customers.
Responsiveness could have been better. I had to leave a message on their voicemail initially to try to schedule, and no one ever returned my call. I was sent directly to voicemail with another attempt to call. After we got a hold of them in person by calling again, they were very helpful. I spoke to Konstantine on the phone, and he spent probably 15 or 20 minutes patiently answering my questions and providing helpful suggestions and information. Although it was harder to get a hold of someone, it was nice to speak directly to one of the plumbing professionals rather than a phone service or someone who just schedules and takes messages.
Follow up could be more responsive. Over 2 weeks later, they have yet to provide the DVD or write-up from the sewer inspection, which we paid extra to receive.
