"This is my second review of BJs.  On our first experience we finished the demo of our bedrooms and hallway and completely filled the 20 yard dumpster.  BJs gave us a coupon for a discount on our next rental and so we decided to go ahead and demo the finished attic while the weather was still good. Once again contacting BJs was easy, the staff on the phone is very friendly and helpful.  Drop off happened promptly, and they picked up on the day they promised they would.  The drivers always seem pretty happy too, must be a good place to work I assume. Not much more to this kind of service than being prompt and friendly.  The dumpster itself is a big metal box that holds garbage, so nothing out of the ordinary there.  But dealing with the people at BJs is extraordinary (and was one of the better bargains I could find when shopping around).  It was nice of them to give us a discount on another rental.  While I enjoy using their service I hope I don't have to rent another dumpster again for a very VERY long time."

"Simply put, Eric and his men are GREAT. Here's why:
COMMUNICATION:
 - When I initially called Eric & left a message requesting a bid, he returned the call himself that night.
- He was honest about his scheduling. None of this "I can do it right away" and then delaying after getting a deposit. He told us he was booked until the end of September (this was mid-August), but would move us up if there were cancellations for weather-dependent jobs.
- Eric broke down the cost of each item we wanted done on his bid so we could prioritize which jobs we could afford now and which ones to do at a later date.
- When the weather delayed another job, he called us and was able to move us up a week on his schedule just as promised.
- When we added taking down two hedges and a dying tree after the first day, Eric worked those items into the job so we didn't have to wait longer to get them down.
- Eric showed up at the worksite each day to check that all was going ok and we didn't have any questions.
THE WORK ITSELF
- Eric's crew was ON TIME and PREPARED all 7 days they were at the house. The weather was atrocious, but the crew was still pleasant and worked their butts off.
- The guys were exceedingly clean and conscientious about how they left our property. All debris was hauled away and when a storm hit after removing the spruce and hedges, they covered the holes with weighted tarps so the rain wouldn't cause erosion under the driveway or yard. (they filled in the holes the next day)
- the French drain looks terrific and has stopped major drainage issues on one side of the house.
FINAL COMMENTS
We plan to have Dirt Pros come back next spring to work on some drainage issues in our back yard and along the front walk. My only regret about the job is that we didn't have the budget to have ALL of our soil amended in our backyard. The area the guys cleared and amended in the raised beds looks fabulous and now the other side of the yard is rather pathetic by comparison!

Garbage Removal questions, answered by experts

Continuous feed garbage disposals are the favorite model for many homeowners for a reason. As opposed to batch feed models, add food scraps to the drain whenever the disposal is running. This variety is also typically less expensive, more convenient, and easier to clean.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

You may be able to install a garbage disposal on your own, especially if you're handy or have some experience with plumbing. However, if you have any concerns or want to make absolutely sure that the connections are installed correctly, you may be better off hiring a local garbage disposal installer to do the job.

If your garbage disposal powers up and you can hear it hum, but the arms inside aren’t moving, the problem might be a stubborn clog, a build-up of grease, or a jam of the impeller plate. To troubleshoot these, ensure your unit is off and disconnected from its power source before checking inside the drain or attempting to manually rotate the impeller arms or plate from the underside of the unit. A hex wrench can help.

Most garbage disposals have a reset button that can be triggered with a tool as simple and accessible as your index finger. That said, if you need to perform a more in-depth troubleshooting step, like manually moving the arms inside the unit or rotating the impeller plate, a hex wrench is the most common tool you’ll need. Most garbage disposals come with a hex wrench.
