"Yes! Eduardo and his son did a great job and I highly recommend them to anyone. There’s a lot of contractors who reached out about this project but what I really liked and one of the reason why I hired them because when Eduardo came out to look at the projects he listened and and then he shared with me his thoughts, unlike the others who just insisted this and that and I even almost kicked one out of the house already. After all, we the homeowners are the customers . Anyways, there’s more projects ahead of us and I definitely don’t mind having them to come out for estimate. We showed photos to friends and families and they all loved it."

"We worked with Ali (sales manager) and Tony (project manager), who took the time to design a project that made sense for our property and our budget, made a number of suggestions and recommendations and were never pushy or tried to "sell" us on something. The crew really went above and beyond to provide top quality workmanship and overall we were in very good hands. Highly recommended!"

"Consultant was very helpful and, based upon my earlier research, was very well informed on the issues to address and the available options. We're reviewing the bid and will probably proceed with this contractor."

"We've owned several homes and had painting done by various contractors over the years. This was our best experience to date. Scott Tenhulzen did our bid and was very thorough. The price quoted was reasonable. We weren't looking for the cheapest bid -- we wanted a quality job for a fair price, and that's exactly what we got. The crew arrived on time every day, took great care to protect our home and was meticulous in the preparation work. This included sanding and scraping layers of old questionable-quality paint from the millwork and then filling defects with putty and re-sanding. The painting was completed on the agreed upon schedule. After completion, Scott scheduled a walk through with himself and his crew. In preparation, we marked any areas we thought needed attention with blue painter's tape. The job looked so good that we thought we might be getting overly picky. Imagine our surprise when Scott and crew arrived and looked the job over and Scott added MORE painter's tape on defects so minor we hadn't even noticed them. The crew fixed everything right then and there and we have a beautiful result. I'll definitely use Tenhulzen the next time we have a painting project."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Converting a carport into a garage can vary in difficulty depending on its configuration, the condition of the foundation or slab, and its location relative to the house. The process has a lot in common with a home addition, but you can often skip non-essential finishes like fine flooring, trim work, or even drywall and HVAC. The conversion requires experience with drywall, insulation, and other building materials to ensure it’s done safely and correctly. While it might be possible for a DIYer with the proper tools and skills to do the work, it is a complicated and potentially dangerous job. If you’re new to basic construction, it's best to leave this project to the professionals.

Most Cape Cod houses are two stories tall at the peak, although they’re considered one-and-a-half stories tall because the steep roof pitch cuts off a portion of the living space on the second story. Unless you raise the roof on your Cape Cod house to add a dormer, the interior rooms upstairs will lose some usable living space to the sloped ceilings.

Professionals ensure precise alignment and durability, critical for structural integrity.

You may need a permit to install your window seat. Even though it's an indoor modification, some municipalities require permits for any built-ins added to homes. Check with your carpenter or, if you're DIY-ing, do some research on your city's requirements.

Most of the time, you’ll want to use screws on your subfloor rather than nails. Nails can actually weaken plywood, whereas screws can easily penetrate without damage. They also form a more secure connection because of their shape, preventing squeaky floors and tightly holding the subfloor in place. That said, some contractors do prefer nails depending on the type of floor covering because they allow for more flexibility.
