"Black topped driveway was really dirty and mossy. Large area to clean. Also cleaned sidewalks, cement patio, large deck, sky lights and removed moss from the north side of the house. Appreciated his attention to detail. Great service! I would hire again."

"The experience was fine. It was more money than we had verbally had been told but he later on had miscalculated the amount of windows. So we didn't go with it. The quote was around $20,000 and we can't afford that. He seemed like a really nice guy. They actually replace the windows. They don't defog them like they say. They actually go in and take out your windows, open them up and put in new glass and put the windows back in. He said they're cheaper than new windows but I don't know that because I haven't quoted windows. I liked him. He was a personable guy. He's a young guy with a family. He's been doing this for a while. At that point, you just can't afford that. Maybe he would let us do it later in stages, I don't know. My husband tells me $25 for that piece. He knows how much glass cost. We're in the business of doing things. We just wanted to find out because we were told it was a defogging method, which I thought they would just come and somehow drill and spray a solution in there and clean them out and reseal. That's not the case. They say that process doesn't work. I just think it's labor and whatever he's paying his guys. It's hard for us to determine what's fair market value because this is America. I just think that's what he charges. It's such a new process, too. He just recently bought this company from another guy. He's not defogging glass anymore. He know takes the glass out of the window and replaces it with more expensive glass. He has to let people know on his site that he doesn't do defogging anymore."

"I have worked with Sheila and Christine for over three years now in two different houses. They clean my house once a month but have also done annual deep cleanings and move out/move in cleanings. We moved last November, and they cleaned the house we placed on the market and our new home before moving in. They are so accommodating that, when the construction in the new house ran late Christine and Sheila offered to come in at night and clean the house so it would be ready for us to move in the next day. They cleaned from 9pm to 1am!!!! They have a key to my house and always do the monthly cleanings when no one is home, they even let the cat and dog out of the laundry room when they are done. We have three children and several pets and we both work full time, the house gets pretty messy and they always do a great job cleaning all areas. I am extremely satisfied with their services and, each month, the day that Perfect House Cleaning comes over and cleans my house is my favorite day to arrive home after a long day at work."

Window Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Deep cleaning after a renovation is important to remove all the dust from construction. This will improve air quality, prevent health issues and increase the home’s comfort level. Also, debris and dust can stain new paint or scratch surfaces, ruining the renovation right from the get-go.

Cleaning services typically offer a range of options. Some of the most common cleaning tasks include:

  • Windows: $4–$10 per window

  • Refrigerator cleaning: $10–$40

  • Carpet cleaning: $75–$200

  • Baseboard cleaning: $25–$75

  • Laundry: $5–$20 per load

  • Cabinets: $20–$50

  • Polishing or waxing floors: $25–$50

  • Dusting: $10–$30

  • Oven cleaning: $20–$40

While clean windows don't automatically increase home value, they make your home look more attractive from the outside, and since the exterior is the first thing a potential buyer will see, it can help make a good first impression that paints the rest of your home in a positive light. Educated homebuyers will see that your home is well cared for if they see clean window tracks and sparkling window glass, which can contribute to an overall positive opinion of your property. Clean windows give the impression that the rest of the home—including systems and appliances—is probably well-kept, too.

A handy hair dryer will quickly remove condensation from your window, but it’s only a temporary fix. The hair dryer maneuver will not repair the root of the window fogging problem, which is likely a broken window seal. If you need to defog the window quickly, such as if guests are coming over, use the hair dryer. However, for a permanent solution, defogging the window or replacing it are the only options.

Generally speaking, you should clean your windows and any associated fixtures and treatments every six months. Otherwise, clean them as needed to keep everything running smoothly. If you live in a part of the country with especially hard water, you may have to clean them three or four times per year, and the same goes for areas where insects, pollen, dirt, and other debris can soil your windows and potentially cause issues with the moving parts.
