MESSNER FIELD SOLUTIONS LLC is committed to offering the best service possible. We specialize in field mowing, field and yard clean up, gravel driveway repair and paddock rebuilds with drainage as well as any tractor services needed.

"Our horse paddock was muddy due to a broken downspout and poor drainage. We thought about covering the wet spot with pea gravel, but Zac recommended fixing the water problem first, as it would be smarter and cheaper. Zac scheduled an appointment to survey the situation, and promptly sent an estimate along with his recommendation. The time and materials bid was thorough and more affordable than I was expecting. He arrived on time with his tractor and materials. He started in the morning and was quiet and respectful of us and our neighbors. He replaced the downspout and dug (shovel and tractor) an approximately 70' graded trench in about 2 hours. He expertly navigated his tractor in a tight space, after first making sure the grounds were clear and safe. He lined the trench with high quality drain fabric, rock, perforated pipe, more rock, wrapped the fabric over the top and backfilled with sod. This is the correct way to build a French drain that will last. 100% recommend."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Tree stumps are not only unsightly, but they can also do serious damage to your yard and home’s foundation. Tree stumps also attract termites, mice, ants, and other pests that could make their way into your home. While it’s an investment in your yard, removing a stump is worth the cost.

Using Epsom salt to kill a tree stump will take between six and 12 months. While this method may seem extended, it significantly speeds up the natural stump decomposition process, which can take up to seven years. If you’d like to DIY remove a tree stump and it’s not causing any immediate harm or danger, using Epsom salt to kill it slowly is a viable removal option.

Bleach can potentially kill some types of delicate ornamental trees, but for the most part, it will only kill the foliage it comes in contact with. Applying bleach is not an effective method of killing a tree. A better option is to use an herbicide, which is a chemical compound designed to effectively kill a tree.

It depends on whether easiest means fastest or least challenging. If you have limited tools or experience, hollowing with a chisel and hammer is the easiest, although it won’t be the fastest approach. Using a chainsaw is much faster, but it comes with more safety risks, especially if you aren’t used to wielding one.

It is possible for you to cut down your own tree, but only take this project on if it’s a small tree and you’re experienced handling a chainsaw. If you need to use a ladder to cut down the tree or tree limbs, it’s too large (and dangerous) for you to remove yourself.

Hire a pro instead who can safely remove the tree without injury to you, themselves, or your home. Either way, look into tree removal regulations for the state you live in before having a tree removed to ensure it’s not a historic tree or protected by your city.
