"How did it go? AMAZING. The roofing team arrived at 6:45,and were finished by 11;45 am. Laid down protective tarps and left my property clean as a whistle. A very respectful work crew who obviously got along well together. I am so happy with their work. A+ to SNOW COUNTRY ROOFING. Sending thanks and gratitude,Deborah OB"

"I cannot recommend Ricky & his crew at Sejay highly enough. I first met Ricky last year (2018) when a windstorm ripped off part of our roof two days before Christmas. After calling all the usual suspects (who were all on vacation, and said they could come "take a look" within 7 days), i found Ricky's phone number. He was here at 7 am. the next morning (Christmas Eve), took one look, and said, I'll be back in three hours." he finished patching the roof as it grew dark. On Christmas Eve. We discussed the need to replace the entire roof (as opposed to constant repairs), and I'm happy to say that he and his crew were here the first week of November 2019 (in the snow), ripped off the old, sealed and replaced the entire roof in 3 days, at a very fair price. He's a local guy with amazing skills, an highly-qualified crew, and a good heart. If you have a roof issue, start with him."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Be careful when choosing a product to help you remove ice from your wood deck. Never use sand, gravel, or salt, since these items can damage and scratch the wood. Instead, look for chemical de-icers that are marked as safe for wood decks or use hot water to melt snow and ice.

The best time to hire a snow removal professional is long before snow falls in your area. Signing up for a seasonal contract not only provides peace of mind that your property will be cleared every time it snows, but it’s also often more affordable to sign a contract than paying for one-off services. If you prefer one-off shoveling services, you should contact your snow removal company the day before a storm is expected to schedule service. You can also call the morning of the snowfall, but this might result in delays.

That depends on the size of your snow blower and how efficiently it uses fuel. Most snow blowers will last between 1 and 2 hours on a full tank of gas. Larger blowers tend to use fuel more quickly and need refilling more often.

Keep in mind, the average snow blowing project for a home driveway takes around 30 minutes. Large driveways and yards will take around an hour. A full tank of gas should be more than enough for snow removal, although the height of the snowfall will have an effect, too.

It’s the reverse of home de-winterization. To winterize, you purge your plumbing system (including your water heater and all piping) of water. Some experts also recommend filling fixtures with an antifreeze solution. Other tasks involve winterizing sprinklers, sealing foundation vents, check weatherproofing around doors and windows, and more.

The easiest way to remove snow from a roof involves using a roof rake that allows you to clear snow from the ground. Roof rakes are lightweight and feature adjustable handles, making them user-friendly for most people. This method also helps prevent ice dams and excess snow buildup, reducing the risk of roof damage during winter months.

When should you remove snow from your roof? A good rule of thumb is once six inches of snow accumulates.
