"Omar and Victor did an excellent job. They inspected and cleaned the chimney and installed the new stove. Work was efficient and effective. They cleaned up after themselves and were extremely pleasant to spend the time with. I thank them for their good work. Whitney Schofield"

"Nick is a very easy person to talk to, understands what you want and completes the work on time. I enjoyed the fact that I saw pictures of my chimney and knew what was wrong and saw pictures after the work was completed. Would recommend him to others....."

"The Owner of the company came out personally to do the work, Chuck did the antenna removal from the roof and connected a smaller form of receiver. Also, fixed the brick work around the chimney and weather sealed it. Brian and Chuck installed receiver in the pool house for TV reception. They are both technically savvy, thorough, professional and knowledgeable. Great with brick work, went above and beyond and super nice guys! I highly recommend Shamrock Chimney for any project. Thanks again guys!"

"These guys are tops! Rick returned my call promptly, and they were able to fit me in between jobs within 2 days. They showed up on time, were professional, safe and explained my options if I wanted to make an insurance claim. They even took the time to properly nail down other rows of shingles that were not nailed correctly to begin with, most likely causing the shingle damage. I highly recommend, and will have Rick1, Rick2 and Ed back in the Spring for a painting estimate and to evaluate the roof condition at that time."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Yes, a pellet stove can heat an entire house—as long as you choose one that’s large enough for that purpose. For context, pellet stoves generate between 8,000 and 90,000 British Thermal Units (BTUs), and you’ll need 30 to 60 BTUs per square foot, depending on your climate zone. If you’re unsure which size pellet stove to buy, reach out to a local pellet or wood stove repair company.

Most projects take 5-10 days, including foundation work, masonry, and finishing.

In most cases, you should not put a TV on a fireplace mantel. The minimum width required to put a TV safely on a shelf or mantel is 10 inches, but pre-made mantels are usually too shallow, averaging at only seven inches deep. If you do choose to place a TV above a mantel, it should be mounted to the wall. However, do so cautiously as heat radiating from the fireplace could potentially cause damage to electronics.

While you have some flexibility in the types of wood you can use in your outdoor furnace, it's important to make wise choices for optimal performance and efficiency. Hardwoods, such as oak, maple, and cherry, are generally recommended for their higher energy content and cleaner burn. These hardwoods produce more heat per volume and tend to produce fewer creosote deposits, which can accumulate and cause a chimney fire, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Costs range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the model, labor, and venting requirements.
