Neat Sweep Chimney Services is a Full Service Chimney Maintenance and Repair Business. Homeowners should be aware of the importance of having their Chimneys Swept and Inspected annually. During the burn season Chimneys are exposed to a wide range of temperatures and harsh seasonal conditions. Having your Chimney Swept and Inspected is an easy way to ensure the system is free of any blockages and meets the minimum acceptable levels of Chimney Safety. A Level 2 Chimney Inspection is typically required upon the sale or transfer of property or anytime the system's experienced a significant change such as a Chimney Fire. We also Service Dryer Vents! One of the most important factors playing a role in your Dryer's overall performance is its Venting System. Dryer Vents should be free and clear of excessive lint and debris. When servicing these systems a before and after Air Flow reading is taken to ensure maximum efficiency and shortest possible dry time for your clothing.

"Nick responded promptly to our request for a chimney inspection. He did an excellent job. His inspection report was very professional."

Cronos Contracting is a family owned and operated company. The owner Tom Riverson (ME!) is a second generation chimney sweep and I choose me bristles with pride! You might see my father (the 1st generation sweep)and I get together to work on some more difficult projects and it's always a good time! How many people can say they've had a family reunion on a rough top! The Company: We offer our service guarantee, if you're not happy it's free. A standard sweep will run $119.00 before tax and includes an inspection, (1) flue and (1) fireplace cleaning and the ash getting all scooped up! What's a standard sweep? A standard sweep is a fireplace which commonly burns seasoned dry wood and contains no more than a mild stage 2 creosote, the black small clumpy stuff usually seen in the flue. A not so standard sweep will have all (3) stages of creosote and be baked on real good which is not so good and will require several types of brushes to clean as well as a couple of creosote treatments to insure the danger of a chimney fire is reduced and avoided. These are priced on a case by case basis although I haven't done one yet that ran over $200 for the cleaning portion. Creosote treatments are $60.00 each and are VERY effective! We run specials often so call and check our prices! Thanks and we look forward to your sweep! When you're with a sweep your as lucky as lucky can be!

Chimney Sweep questions, answered by experts

Vinegar will not damage your roof shingles. Using vinegar to wash your roof is an effective and popular cleaning method for asphalt shingles. You can buy white vinegar with varying concentrations of acetic acid. Typically, 5% is all you need for a good roof cleaning, but if you’ve got stubborn stains or moss you can go as high as 25%.

Regular inspections, cleaning gutters, and replacing broken tiles help extend its lifespan.

Generally, snow removal from a roof should occur once over six inches of snow accumulates, especially if you notice that ice dams have formed. Without ice dams, you can let the snow accumulation hit 12 inches before removing it. However, the amount of snow that is too much for your roof also depends on the sturdiness of your roof and the compactness of the snow. If your roof needs maintenance or has structural issues, it’s best not to let the snow accumulate too much for fear of collapsing.

If you’re asking yourself, should you pressure wash your roof, the answer almost always is no. The water pressure that the power washing machine generates could damage the shingles by forcing water underneath or causing them to loosen. Soft washing with a pump sprayer is the better and safer option.

You should clean your panels at least twice a year. It depends on your location. In dusty climates (think the Arizona desert), you may need to clean your panels more frequently. Dust can dramatically impact the electrical output. If you live in a climate with extreme weather, you may want to check your panels seasonally.
