Subsequent to the original contracted service, I bartered for some repairs within the home. Jack promised that the work would be done "when it rained" so that it was understood that the work was going to fit in between other work. It rained and rained but the work never was completed.
I was very generous with my bartering and gifting because I was moving. Not withstanding this generosity, the foreman and his wife, Jack's daughter, using keys I provided to do repairs, took over my house without my permission. They moved into my house! To be totally fair, we talked about renting it to them but I did not initially sign any lease and they made none of the normal deposits or rental payment. I had other tenants lined up but they blocked my use of the property. In order to get legal traction I was eventually (months later) forced to sign a lease but none of the lease terms were met. I am just now getting the property back through the courts. There is substantial damage to the home and I am finally able to inspect the quality of work. I don't honestly know how Angie's list allows them to use their service.
Broken windows, broken in doors, holes in the walls, missing appliances, missing tools, (they even took a 4x8 peg board off the wall), un-allowed pets with damages, and dumpster loads of garbage. all because Affordable Roofing was given access to the property to perform specific tasks, that were poorly or never performed. I would have expected my keys and access to my property to be managed professionally. Be careful.
I listed 14K as the cost of the original roof work, but this does not include the bartering, nor the unpaid rents, nor the damages which are mounting...as I am still trying to assess the total impact of this outrageous behavior. I am considering civil and criminal legal process against Affordable Roofing and it's employees.

I am100% satisfied with the services that were provided from this company, they were very professional and finished earlier than expected. I would highly recommend Affordable Roofing for any repairs you need, they are very hard workers and finish the job very quickly. I will be contacting them in the spring for more restoration that my husband and I need done to our home.

AFFORDABLE ROOFING was able to squeeze me in between his last project and the next much bigger project because my roof was leaking and the next on agreed to wait a few days longer since his was not an immediate emergency! He utilized far better materials then the original ones and added a new type of weather shield and better flashing and 30 year tiles with a 10 year labor warranty! I would use him again for other projects and he is coming back to do a long list of small interior jobs.

Jack & his crew were excellent! Friendly and courteous throughout a fairly large job. When delayed by weather they even came on a weekend day to catch up. The roof looks excellent and we're very pleased with the quality of the materials used. Jack was knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions. One of the most important aspects for us was to have the area around our house kept clean & clear of nails and debris throughout the process and they more than exceeded our expectations in this regard - cleaning up neatly every day that they worked. We would not hesitate to work with Jack again.

Jack and his crew did an excellent job. My location is somewhat difficult in several respects. One side of the house faces Lake Champlain and the only access to that side is from the deck. There is no ground on which to stage ladders but they made it work. Parking is also an issue and they were able to bring their trailer and place it in a location that allowed the neighbors access to their property. Sounds confusing but this is "rural Vermont"
The job was a day and half. They cleaned up carefully making sure all nails and old shingles were picked up and removed. Everyone was polite and professional.

Due to rain the project had to be delayed but once they started Jack and his team came prepared, worked hard all day and cleaned up at the end of each day.  They were professional and courteous.  I would highly recommend them.  Our new roof looks great!

It went great! After being postponed for a while due to continuous rain, they were ready to start as soon as the skies cleared up. They estimated it would take 3 days to complete the job (new shingles, new ice and water shield, roof vents, chimney flashing and re-pointing, and new seamless gutters), it only took 2 days. Jack was very professional and helpful, as was the rest of his crew. We communicated frequently on the phone while waiting for the rain to clear up to start the job, keeping us posted on the status of other jobs. He was able to schedule our roof relatively immediately after the initial request and consultation (if it just wasn't for the rain!). His crew was prompt and had all the supplies necessary to start the roof. It didn't take nearly as long as I had anticipated, working roughly from 7:30am (I requested they start as early as they were able to in the morning) to 4:00pm both days. After each day they did a thorough job cleaning up roof debris, laying down tarps on the lawn, bushes and deck prior to beginning work to catch the falling debris, and they had a large magnet to pick up nails from the yard and driveway (no flat tires!). When ripping up the old shingles, they discovered around our chimney that the boards were rotting from water, they were able to quickly replace the plywood without problem and assured us that there didn't appear to be any further water damage than that.

So, now that the roof is complete, it looks beautiful! The craftsmanship and color of the shingles looks great and we are very excited about it. The chimney also is in better condition with the re-pointing and new flashing around the base. Our new gutters will be attached on Saturday (a week ahead of anticipation too), and Jack highly recommended the person who will be doing this job.

Jack and Affordable Roofing guarantees their craftsmanship for 10 years, and the shingles for at least 15 years. I am very pleased with the work provided and the knowledge that Jack has been doing this for almost 30 years. I most certainly will contact Affordable Roofing in the future for any other renovation I might need on my house (they do more than just roofs!)

They showed up bright and early as scheduled.  They were very professional and friendly.  They tore off the old shingles and installed new ones, disposing of all trash and making sure there were no nails around to puncture our tires.  They knocked the whole job out in a day!
My sister also used this contractor a few years ago and was, like us, very pleased with the service.
I will definitely refer friends and family to this company.

After a lot of family discussions about whether we should do this project or not this year and phone-tag and delays on their end, the work eventually commenced.  From start to finish, the owner (Jack Menard) and his workers carried out the job professionally and quickly.  They removed the shingles in one day and replaced with Syntek paper.  The materials arrived exactly as we had ordered.  I was able to observe every stage o the work and it was carried out as I had requested.  Now, we have a much higher quality roof than we originally had that we expect will last for the lifetime of the home.

Overall impressions / thoughts:
We probably should have removed our cars from the garage during the original roof tear-down, due to the debris and nails, but that was our fault.
Each day, the contractors did a good attempt to remove the nails around the house, but I found over a dozen (especially in the garage) so check for them yourselves.
The owner seems to be a genuinely good person who wants his company to do great work, but he may seem a little flaky in terms of getting back to you after you call.
OVERALL, we are very happy with the work that he and his workers did for us.  I would recommend them to others.
