The crown coat they installed on the chimney is peeling away already. It has only been just over a year of a 15 year warranty and the coating is peeling away and some of the mortar has fallen off. I have attempted to reach them to fix but no response.

He acted like the nicest guy possible then instantly switched once he had my money. He stole my deposit and had to be sued to get it back (which he bragged about how he knew the courts from previous suits). His reviews show this as a pattern. What little work he did was not to code and had to be redone by professionals. He continues to threaten me. See picture for an example of how unprofessional his communications become once his nice act to get your money goes away. He should be removed from Angi. Do NOT use this contractor.

It’s awful, he lied to me. He pretended to be a nice guy but he was awful and he did nothing to my fireplace. He took my money and never heard from him again. There was a bad review to a business bureau when I checked.

I reached out to Anthony’s Chimney Sweeps for help with 1) application of a chimney crown coat seal, and 2) installation of a lock top chimney damper. My home’s crown coat had worn away and the damper had literally fallen off the chimney (probably due to a combination of raccoons and wind). Both Anthony and I had to be flexible with the timing of this job as he had vacation planned and the weather was a problem (rain and snow). However, it was super easy to work with Anthony and the communication was great! He kept me up to date on his schedule, and he worked with me when I needed to fit the work in to a very tight timeframe on my end. Anthony both called and texted me, as appropriate. He was pleasant explained everything thoroughly and to my satisfaction, and he was patient. He regularly asked if I had any questions. The bottom line is that he did what he said he would do in a timely fashion. There were zero problems. He even made a point to drop off the equipment I paid for in advance of his vacation so that I would have it. I paid $600 up front and $600 when the work was finished. Too, while he was on the roof, Anthony noticed that my roofer had failed to install a furnace cap and storm collar last year and brought it to my attention. He took pictures of everything so that I could see his work and what was going on on the roof. Now that this work has been done my house is much less drafty and I’ll recoup the cost of this repair over the next few months. Highly recommend and I will call Anthony again in the future.

Fraud Alert- Be aware of Anthony’s Chimney Sweeps. August 16, 2022 I contacted Anthony’s Chimney Sweeps to bid on chimney repairs. I will say, Anthony was very prompt on replying and followed up with a visit and wrote up a bid for repairs. He indicated it would be two weeks before work could be completed. He cashed the deposit check and I assumed the repairs would be completed. In September, Anthony called to say it would be another several weeks. On October 5, 2022 I sent a text asking if the work was going to completed on October 13 as scheduled for the third time. Anthony called back and indicated all supplies were ready for the repairs. On October 12, the day before work was scheduled, Melinda, Office Manager for Anthony called to say the repairs would again have to rescheduled as the supplies were not ready. She also said if the supplies were not ready the following week a full refund for the deposit would be sent the following week. I sent back a text to Melinda, about my displeasure on another delay and that I no longer had faith Anthony was going to do the repairs and wish to have my deposit refunded. She said a check would be mailed on the 19th of October. By the end of October, the refund check had not arrived so I sent another message by text and mail. Anthony’s Chimney Sweeps is not longer returning messages and I can only assume this has been fraud from the beginning. I don’t believe Anthony ever intended to do the repairs, that he cashed my deposit check, is not going to refund my money as promised. This is theft.

"We would never steal anything from anyone. You had us order a $2000 custom chase cap cover and decided you didn’t want us to do your project anymore. Our sheet metal guy wouldn’t give us a refund because it’s a custom part. We did have to send the cap back for adjustments twice because your chimney bricks are uneven. We kept you updated every step of the way. You were unhappy that we had to reschedule a couple of times but this happens in our business. Parts that are Custom sometimes need adjustments. To say we committed Fraud is simply untrue. We’ve been with Home Advisor/Angie’s List since 2017. If we were a rip off company they wouldn’t continue to flood us with an unlimited amount of work. If you’d like the part installed we’re still willing to install it. Custom parts are non refundable as we stated when you booked us. Please give us a call if you have any questions. Since I am a disabled veteran and can no longer climb to the roof he showed me photos of a faulty installation by the roofer last year. There was a major gap where the metal surrounds the chimney pipe to the stucco.
