"The JES crew from Salem, VA did a wonderful job. Calvin Coffey, Keinan Hambrick, and Eric Phelps were courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. They inspired confidence. Their work was systematic, organized, and careful. They paid attention to the details, so the finished product looks good and should function as promised. They didn't cut corners, and cleaned up at the end of each day, which we greatly appreciated. They worked VERY hard but never complained, always maintaining that professional attitude. We were impressed, and thanks to them, will highly recommend this company."

"I dislike providing reviews unless my experience was stellar, but that undermines a major benefit of Angie's List. After I purchased the visit to diagnose the problem, the company did not contact me to to schedule an appointment nor did they respond to my first contact with them. After a week passed, I contacted them again and successfully scheduled a time. The company representative had ideas about the cause of the mold, but he was most interested in selling us a commercial dehumidifier for our craw space at a cost of $1,700. I repeatedly questioned him about the link between our mold in the garage and the crawlspace, but he was never able to explain how the dehumidifier was necessary. Indeed, he had missed seeing the grates in the crawlspace that vent outside the house. We would have been trying to dehumidify west Knoxville. When I showed him the vents, he still wanted to sell that dehumidifier. I wanted him to cut into the dry wall in order to verify that there was no mold problem inside the wall. He would not do that. Master Dry does not repair dry wall. I had a handyman replace the dry wall and verified that the mold problem was not more extensive."

David was on time and very professional. He spent an appropriate amount of time evaluating the 2 areas we had requested. He documented the inspection w/ photos, measurements, and sketches. He provided a verbal preliminary report and is to provide a written final report w/ specifications for the mods we are proposing. (Removing a wall upstairs and a post downstairs.) We were happy to hear that our mods were going to be less complicated than originally thought and consequently less expensive. We have the peace of mind that the proposed changes are structurally sound and will be done correctly.

Concrete Cutting questions, answered by experts

Cutting rectangular ductwork requires careful measurements and the right technique. Use a measuring tape and pencil to mark the cutting lines accurately. Tin snips are excellent for straight cuts on smaller ducts. For more extensive or thicker rectangular ducts, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade is effective.

Ensure the duct is well-supported and secure while cutting to prevent wobbling and maintain precision. After cutting, use a metal file to smooth any sharp edges, ensuring safety during installation.

You should not do your own welding unless you have the proper training and experience. Most home electrical systems can only handle MIG welding, which creates weaker bonds than TIG welding and won’t work on certain metals or metal thicknesses. Both welding forms usually require the use of shielding gas, which can be dangerous to store at home. Additionally, welding machines create temperatures of over 3,000 degrees, and the sparks can blind you if you don’t have the proper equipment. As such, it’s usually better to hire a professional welder for your welding projects.

Choosing the right metal fabricator for your project begins with research. Find a reputable fabrication company by searching for reputable contractors in your area, and then reviewing photos of their previous work, customer reviews, and photos of the company’s workshop.

Once you’ve narrowed down the list, contact the companies to ask about the types of metal fabrication projects they specialize and inquire about guarantees and warranties on workmanship. You should also ensure the company uses high-quality material, and ask about the schedule and turnaround time for your proposed project.

To maintain custom or fabricated metal structures and extend their lifespan and appearance, perform regular cleaning, apply rust prevention treatments, and use protective coatings.

Yes, you can cut plexiglass by hand using a sharp knife or blade (utility knife, box cutter, glass cutter, etc.).
