Darrell and his crew removed our old deck and in it's place, installed a screen porch and new deck surrounding it. Darrell provided some design ideas on the screen porch, and was very helpful. The cedar trim around all the screen openings looks awesome! The workmen showed up on time, did an excellent job, and did it all for a reasonable price. Now that it's done, we love our new screen porch and deck. Before starting this prokect, we talked to 4 contractors. We selected Mr. Fix-It. If we had it to do over again, we'd still select Mr, Fix-It to build our new deck and screen porch.

They built a new deck for us and did a great job on the deck. However, one of the deck railings was not cut or installed correctly, and four months later, he still refuses to return and fix it. It would only take 1-2 hours of work to correct this, but he will not take care of it.

Extra work was performed with extra expense & not discussed with me. We eventually settled but the roof leaked in 2 separate places. They said they would fix and it was "under warranty ". At least four requests were made to "fix it". They never showed up. I had to pay $2,600 to repair their insufficient workmanship. I would never allow anyone I know to use them.

Their online response was immediate and the job was completed as promised. We felt very fortunate to have found an expert. The sink is now in place, and secured in the way it should have been when it was originally installed. The proper adhesives were used and a wire brace was added for extra support.

It was not good. Mr. Fix-It was a nightmare. He never showed up on time. The first order of materials, he had them sent to his house instead of our house and he would have people show up and he thought they were going to bring the stuff instead of him furnishing them. Some of the guys that worked for him were good, not very many of them. They painted doors and didn't sand them. He wanted money upfront. He wanted more money before he got this done. Finally we just came to an agreement that this is it. Just consider the contract for sale. It is complete. It is not good.  We were calling to try to get something and he would just be ugly. I tried to talk to him and said we need to work through this, and it was not good. He did not have the demeanor in this business. He has no coordination with his work and in getting things lined up. He does not have that ability. He got married and divorced and we didn’t even know it. He’s got problems. He may do good in another line of work, but not this one. I was just so glad to have him out of my life. My life was so stressful with him. Everything was a fight. It was ugly. It was not good at all. I wouldn’t have him back if he did the work half price. If he did the same work at half price, we would not do it. He priced it at $20,000 and we added some things. The first day he came he asked our colors. There was going to be sheet rock, a lot of the crown molding on top and around the baseboard. The floors had to be sanded. He was wanting colors. We needed to pick colors out. He said he has a house and they painted everything gray. I said this is not that house, we are not going to paint anything gray. He was overbearing and obnoxious. I wouldn’t recommend him to anybody. I have known later on Angie’s List that some of his guys have stolen some stuff from another lady’s home that they had done work on. He’s not fair at all. One of the guys would collect money for him. I didn’t see him. We weren’t happy. The guy said that if we get the sink, he said it would go in there and he would put in when he put the countertop down. He didn’t know anything about it. I purchased the sink myself so that it would be done at the same time, and it would fit. This guy was subcontracted from him and he did a lot better work and cared about his work, and he was concerned about Mr. Fix-It. It was not a good deal at all. We kept an eye on Angie’s List and he values Angie’s List ratings a lot. The first day that he came, he said that he would do a really good job. I said actions will speak a whole lot louder than words with me. He looked at me like I had called him a 4-letter word. It blew him away that I would even say such thing. Don’t tell me how wonderful it’s going to be, show me your work and make it nice. It was not good. He was just a nightmare happening in my life. The pricing was reasonable. It wasn’t the cheapest but it wasn’t the most expensive. If it was subcontracted, usually it was good. He doesn’t have any professionalism. I wouldn’t want that man back in my life for nothing. It stresses me to talk about it.

I have my dream kitchen, thanks to Mr. Fix It/Bath Masters. We had an atypical plan, using Ikea cabinets according to a plan we designed. Although this was Mr. Fix Its first Ikea installation, they were great sports and were meticulous in getting it right. We put together the cabinets to save money and time, but they installed them. I work from home, so I was nervous to see how a remodel was going to work while I was on conference calls and emails the entire day, but they were nothing but professional and surprisingly not that noisy. They cleaned up at the end of every day, with the exception of their drywaller, which they warned me about as being messy. Once the finish product was ready to enjoy, I've loved it every day since!
We encountered some challenges, as you will with any down-to-the-studs remodel for the bath and kitchen, but they did a great job at addressing what needed to happen. For example, we have an old house, and when the tile was installed in the shower, I wasn't pleased with some of the workmanship - some of it was caused by uneven walls and some that was because the tile people messed up in the details. With the part that he could control, Darrell made sure to get it fixed and very quickly.
The one complaint I have with Darrell was the lack of notice and communication on when he needed the payment installments. I suggest you ask for 3 days notice before a request for payment.

In July we signed a contract.  Darrell said he would start in September and the day after Labor day his crew showed up and started building the breeze way for the new tiny house.  By the end of the week the breeze way was built and footers were poured for the house. The next weekend block was laid.  Framing started within the minimum time allowed for block to cure.  His crew had it framed, roofed, and windows in by the end of September.
After the framing was completed my wife and I decided there was not enough room on first floor for a bedroom. We were thinking of adding a bedroom in basement.  Darrell recommended we add bedroom to the side of the building.  Good decision.  He had the  12' X 12' addition framed and roofed within two days.  This was done in middle of October.
Rough plumbing was started and completed within a week along with rough electrical which took about two days.
Building was insulated as soon as rough ins were completed which took one day.  Drywall followed right after the insulation was done.  Drywall was completed around Halloween.
Initial painting took about a week and then floor installed.  This was completed by Thanksgiving.
Finished plumbing and electrical completed around 1st of December.
Touch up painting and hvac were completed by 2nd week of December.

Daughter and grandkids moved in new tiny house December 23.  Merry Christmas.
Darrell time line is impeccable.

Paul returned my initial message within one day, put my mix of small jobs repairing renters damages into his schedule almost immediately. I am not local to the job and he kept me updated on progress, offered good advice based on his excellent understanding of my desired quality level and sent pictures when complete. He exceeded expectations in every category and I'd recommend him without reservation. He is one of the Good Guys.

Mr Fixit built a screened in porch on an existing deck of our house. they did an excellent job and I would recommend them anytime. they were on budget and on time which is great considering the amount of rain we had. there was an existing bump out on my deck that I wanted incorporated into the porch it was a difficult work around but Jamie, the carpenter, spent a full day just on that section and it turned out wonderful. Any questions or concerns I had were dealt with immediately. the work is good quality work they take pride in what they do and I would use them again anytime.

I called and he said he could fit us in that day. I gave them our address and phone#. They found the house with no problem and arrived right on time. They were very neat and professional and cleaned up completely. The door I had purchased needed to be modified as the ladder was a little too long to fold out properly. They cut the bottom section and reattached it so it would fold out properly. They did a great job and you could not tell it had been modified. I am very pleased with the way the job was done.

He has a good sub-workers under him and the people in the office are really good to work with. They do a great job. My issue is with the owner, I call him if I have an issue and he doesn't return them. He didn't complete the job, the grout came out and he didn't give me my bonus. I never got my $50 gift certificate the guys did a great job. I ended up having to do the job myself. The men did a great job but the owner didn't. I would never use them again because of the owner.

Darrell Dunn & his Mr. Fix It & Bath Masters crew did a phenomenal job from start to finish! We called Darrell to come out to bid the job and he scheduled a time right away to come meet with us to hear our ideas of what we were wanting and to bid the job.  Darrell set a time to meet back to present his bid and what type of materials would be used, timelines & when the project could get started and he nailed it! In our initial meeting we had expressed we did not want it to feel like a finished basement when it was completed.  We wanted it to feel like it was part of the home from the beginning.  We had about 1200-1300 sq ft we wanted to finish out as living space and still leaving a portion as a 1 car garage area.  In this area we wanted to add a full bathroom, 2nd kitchen area, open living area, bedroom, 2nd laundry/utility area and home theater room.  Darrell seemed to know exactly what we were looking for from the beginning so we quickly agreed upon the project price and he had a crew out the next day ready to start.  His crews & subs were very nice, polite, punctual, and they never missed a day cleaning up the job site everyday before leaving.

The finished product turned out absolutely amazing! We could not have been happier with the end result!  The materials used were top quality & the workmanship was top notch!  There is not a day that goes by that we do not spend the majority of our time in this finished space now.  We would highly recommend Darrell & his crews to do any job that may need to be completed around your home.

The project went extremely well from the start of tearing out plaster walls, since this was an older home, to the finishng touches on the paint. This was a complete gut and do-over from floor to ceiling including electrical and plumbing. The workers are very, very knowledgeable and professional. Also they keep everything very neat , and clean after themselves. Also, they are very friendly and trustworthy as we would leave the house often while they were working. Mr. Dunn took care of eveything by picking colors , flooring, and hardware, saving us a lot of time. He has very good taste !
