We encountered some challenges, as you will with any down-to-the-studs remodel for the bath and kitchen, but they did a great job at addressing what needed to happen. For example, we have an old house, and when the tile was installed in the shower, I wasn't pleased with some of the workmanship - some of it was caused by uneven walls and some that was because the tile people messed up in the details. With the part that he could control, Darrell made sure to get it fixed and very quickly.
The one complaint I have with Darrell was the lack of notice and communication on when he needed the payment installments. I suggest you ask for 3 days notice before a request for payment.
After the framing was completed my wife and I decided there was not enough room on first floor for a bedroom. We were thinking of adding a bedroom in basement. Darrell recommended we add bedroom to the side of the building. Good decision. He had the 12' X 12' addition framed and roofed within two days. This was done in middle of October.
Rough plumbing was started and completed within a week along with rough electrical which took about two days.
Building was insulated as soon as rough ins were completed which took one day. Drywall followed right after the insulation was done. Drywall was completed around Halloween.
Initial painting took about a week and then floor installed. This was completed by Thanksgiving.
Finished plumbing and electrical completed around 1st of December.
Touch up painting and hvac were completed by 2nd week of December.
Daughter and grandkids moved in new tiny house December 23. Merry Christmas.
Darrell time line is impeccable.
Darrell Dunn & his Mr. Fix It & Bath Masters crew did a phenomenal job from start to finish! We called Darrell to come out to bid the job and he scheduled a time right away to come meet with us to hear our ideas of what we were wanting and to bid the job. Darrell set a time to meet back to present his bid and what type of materials would be used, timelines & when the project could get started and he nailed it! In our initial meeting we had expressed we did not want it to feel like a finished basement when it was completed. We wanted it to feel like it was part of the home from the beginning. We had about 1200-1300 sq ft we wanted to finish out as living space and still leaving a portion as a 1 car garage area. In this area we wanted to add a full bathroom, 2nd kitchen area, open living area, bedroom, 2nd laundry/utility area and home theater room. Darrell seemed to know exactly what we were looking for from the beginning so we quickly agreed upon the project price and he had a crew out the next day ready to start. His crews & subs were very nice, polite, punctual, and they never missed a day cleaning up the job site everyday before leaving.
The finished product turned out absolutely amazing! We could not have been happier with the end result! The materials used were top quality & the workmanship was top notch! There is not a day that goes by that we do not spend the majority of our time in this finished space now. We would highly recommend Darrell & his crews to do any job that may need to be completed around your home.
