Small jobs welcome

"Adrian and his team are excellent and professional. I was having water coming into my crawlspace from one area. Every estimate given included a french drain with a pump in the crawl space. When Adrian came for an estimate he was sure it was coming from outside and with this professional advice we decided to tackle the problem from outside and that was the right way to go. His team removed planks from the outside deck and by crawling under the deck found the source of the issue. It was a dirty job but they worked through it with a great professional attitude. The problem seems to have been repaired with fixes outside and inside the crawl space. He also replaced an old sump pump and extended the waste line beyond the deck. The important part about this was that Adrian understood how important the issues of the water coming into the crawl space was and he was able to work me in around some cancellations and worked on the issue till he was sure it was resolved. I really appreciated this. He also had guaranteed the work if any water should appear. I am ready to hire them for other projects. This company is a find. Excellent customer service and excellent work."

Small jobs welcome

"They are the very BEST in the business. I have hired them for four jobs. In June 2022 they removed a very heavy upright piano, full size pool table and many other Estate Items. They were fast and efficient beyond belief. We had a tornado touch down on the property destroying 42 trees, fences, and a shed. They came out after the trees were removed and took down the fences and removed the crushed shed and its contents. Words cannot express how grateful I was for having such dedicated people working so hard to restore the property. I highly recommend Billy Goat Junk Removal. You won't be sorry!"

"I had two known dead trees that had to be removed for safety. Julio came out evaluated the trees and my overall proeprty. He found other dead trees, problem trees (large hollows and signs of other issues). He quoted a very reassonable price and was able to start rightaway. the trees were all dropped and the property cleaned up within a day."

Concrete Disposal questions, answered by experts

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.

In some cases, it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace a garbage disposal, but it depends on the specific issue you’re having and the age of your disposal. You should ask a garbage disposal repair tech for a quote to repair your appliance and then see if it would be more worthwhile to replace it. Additionally, garbage disposals last for around 15 years, so if you know your appliance is reaching that age, it’s likely better to pay for a new garbage disposal rather than sink money into repairs.

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

The most common garbage disposal size in the U.S. is 1/2 horsepower. This size is ideal for households with three or fewer people or those that don't produce much food waste. Although 1/2 horsepower can't handle the typical food waste load for a household of four (which is about 250 pounds of food waste annually) as effectively as 3/4 horsepower, it remains the most common size of garbage disposal on the market.
