"This bathtub replacement was not easy because of Quest plumbing! Mike M, Matt, Nate, and Jose did a great job removing and replacing the bathtub with a shower tray. They were on time, kept my home clean, and did an excellent job on the install."

"Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."

"The job was to replace the existing wood porch railings with vinyl railings and add soffits. The work and professionalism were great. They did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. I am very satisfied with the work and the quality of the material. The only part of the experience that I did not care for was the sales. They are one of those companies that you have to listen to their spiel about the quality of their products before you can get a quote. I understand the necessity, it is just that it takes three or four hours out of your evening to get a quote. Despite that, the salesman was personable, pleasant and informative and if it wasn't for the amount of time I probably would not have even mentioned it. In short, they offer a high quality vinyl that they guarantee will last and not discolor. The company was professional and I am very satisfied. You get what you pay for. If you do not want to pay a premium price for higher quality material and professionalism, or if you do not want to spend three or four hours to get a quote then this company is not for you. However, if you can spend the time, and want a good product this company may suit your needs. I would recommend them to others. In fact, I am going to eventually get a new vinyl garage door and entry door from this company. I just have to do it a little at a time because of the cost.

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Whether replacing a bathtub with a shower affects your home's value depends on several factors, with the most significant being whether it's the only tub in the house. Removing the sole bathtub can lower a home's value because many prospective buyers, particularly families with young children or pets, require at least one.

However, a tub-to-shower conversion can also increase home value. A modern walk-in shower is often seen as an upgrade in a secondary bathroom and can be a desirable feature for its accessibility and style, appealing to older homebuyers or those without children. The overall impact is also influenced by your local real estate market and its typical buyer demographic.

If your bathroom layout allows, installing both a freestanding bathtub and a separate shower can be an ideal solution that appeals to the widest range of potential buyers.

A peeling bathtub is not a good thing. It’s a sign that the finish is coming off, and continued exposure to water and cleaning products can continue to damage the finish and eventually the underlying structure of the tub. What starts as a few chips or flakes can worsen into large chunks peeling off.

Adding a soaking tub can increase your return on investment (ROI) for a bathroom remodel, with many people recouping a 60% ROI when adding a soaking tub. To get the best value from installing a soaking tub, make sure that your floor plan allows the tub to act as a focal point in your bathroom, adding aesthetic value as well as being practical.

Of the two most common and affordable bathtub materials, acrylic is notably better. Though fiberglass is cheaper, it is also more prone to scratching, chipping, fading, and cracking. Acrylic holds up better to wear and tear, cleaning, and sun exposure; the slight cost increase is usually worth the increased longevity.

The most common type of tub is the alcove; most bathtubs are shower and tub combinations. Many suburban homes feature these as the default option because they allow the flexibility for users to take a bath or a shower—a notable benefit for those with pets and young kids.
