"We had had Powerhouse do some exterior painting for us last summer and they did an awesome job. Very conscientious, and thorough. We then talked to Brian about possibly replacing a couple of our windows—one in front and one at the back. We have an older home and like the stained interior, and even though wood windows aren’t recommended, we chose to do that since we didn’t want to replace ALL of the windows at one time. I did a lot of research and worked with Tommy Underwood, who again, did a very thorough job ordering the window and keeping me in the loop. He listened to what I had said, and ordered the window for us. Since the original windows are 30 years old, you can’t get ‘exactly’ the same kind, but they did a superb job of finding a very similar replacement window. The installation was fairly easy, but finding the closest stain color was not. It took a lot of trial and error, but they stuck with it and did an excellent job. We are so pleased because there will be more window replacement in our future and we’ve found a company. (Powerhouse) and a product that works well for us. "Restart his crew were able to paint my one story vinyl sided home and update it from its dingy dark yellow to a fresh Agreeable gray. "FANTASTIC! Already hired again! I made the mistake of not hiring Atlantic Dominion the first time to paint this room. However, Don came in and explained how he could remedy the unsavory unfinished work. He started promptly on the work and was able to save the walls. I spend a lot of time in my living room and now I want to spend even more time because the walls, trim and ceiling are magnificent. If you are like me, it has been hard to put a nail in the professionally painted wall to hang curtains or hang a picture. Just don't want to mess up the fine work that Atlantic Dominion did. "I initially contacted Tommy through the Angie's List website, and he called me promptly to set up an appointment to visit my home and review the work I wanted done. He then followed up with an email giving me a quote for the work. Since I felt the quoted price was reasonable and he had such good reviews, we scheduled the work for the next week. I became ill later that week, and Tommy worked with me to reschedule. On the first work day, Tommy and his assistant, Lou, arrived as scheduled at 9:00 a.m. and immediately began covering furniture with clean plastic, tenting kitchen cabinets, covering floors with drop cloths, and taping woodwork. Smaller items, such as dining room chairs, were even moved into the garage. Although I offered them lunch, both said that they preferred to work straight through the day. Since I still was not feeling well, I ended up going into a bedroom to lie down and ended up falling asleep. When I awoke at 5:30, they had left, but not before removing all plastic and drop cloths, replacing the furniture, and sweeping the floor. The second day went much as the first, except that I changed my mind about the color for one of the rooms, and Tommy made a special trip to the paint store to get the new paint. The bedroom, bathroom, and den were completed that day, the plaster in the garage was repaired, and Tommy installed the under-cabinet lighting (not normally one of their services but done as a special favor since I had no one else to do it). My house was left in perfect order when they finished, and they even borrowed my vacuum to make sure that the floors were left clean. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Always Painting by Tommy. Not only is the quality of their work outstanding, but I felt that their prices were fair. They were prompt and reliable and provided good follow through when minor issues arose. Both Tommy and Lou are gentlemen who conduct themselves professionally, take obvious pride in their work, and go out of their way to try to please the customer. I have already had them back for another smaller painting job and would not hesitate to recommend them to others who might need their services. In fact, a family member who is renovating a house will be calling them for a quotation when they are ready to paint this spring.

We contacted Bob Preast, CertaPro via Angie's List. We contacted several other companies also but selected Certa Pro , first of all, because of Mr. Preast's professionalism and knowledge of the business. He thoroughly and clearly explained the process, the paints, the staffing, the timing etc. He was the last company we met with and we were impressed with his efficiency in providing a clear, itemized, well-written estimate.  He also offered help in color selection and was easy to communicate with and available to answer our questions.

When the painting began, there was always a supervisor around to monitor the work. The workers were friendly and hard working. There was a problem obtaining the paint they needed (Mostly our fault since we were late in making a decision, also due to the fact that it was a holiday weekend and Fall when demand was high ) but, this problem was invisible to us because behind the scenes, they went to stores all over Tidewater to find the paint.  They finished the job in two days when we expected about three. 

The quality of the job is awesome. No mistakes in sight. A beautiful job. We are delighted. We will contact him in the future for additional paint jobs.
