"Great Gaspare came out gave us a quick estimate, and came back out that week. Their team was fast, and did a really clean job. They were also nice as all get out. Seriously such a nice group of young people."

"Randy was very prompt in responding to our request for proposal . He was not very good at calling and leaving messages when he could continue to work on the job. He also demanded payment 1/3 to start, 1/3 half way through and 1/3 at the end of the project. He painted over electrical plugs in some places instead of removing the wall plate. There were spots that were missed or painted too lightly.  One time he called my phone and I couldn't answer at the time. He didn't leave a message so I assumed he had dialed a wrong number and he never called me back until one day he showed up and wanted to know why I hadn't called him back. Very poor communication throughout the job. And there were times he didn't show up when he said he would."

"Julian provided a very professional contract with all the details covered.
The work started on time but finished late due to three days of weather delay.
We have used Julian's company before and were just as impressed this
time with his professionalism, attention to detail and close contact with us.
He introduced his assistant to us the first day so that we would know him
if he came alone, which he did one of the days.
He color matched paint, proposed a new product for the deck (stain and seal)
and found and fixed many things that were missed in the initial walk-around.
He threw in at no additional cost the door and trim of a backyard shed.
He left us with a small amount of each paint color and product for touch-ups.
All in all, a great experience - we plan to hire them to do the interior next.

"Finding Jason and Redline was a lifesaver!! He came and gave us an estimate and then showed up on time and worked like crazy. Redline has several team members, but because we needed help on very short notice - Jason did it all himself in 2 days. He disposed of 4 van loads (1500 lbs. each) of items by donation, recycling, or the dump. He took care of everything - we did not have to lift a finger. We did not even have to separate "keep" items from "garbage" as he remembered our instructions and was on top of it. He was professional, likeable, honest, thorough and calm. He glanced through everything during the process and would ask or bring back items that might be sentimental or have any monetary value. Jason at Redline was a true Godsend. I've never been this lucky or happy with a service before and I am really picky. I have already hired him to come back for cleaning services after the paint and carpet are finished so the house will be sparkling before we put it on the market. His price was REASONABLE and he was a joy to work with. Jason and Redline are the BEST and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. In fact, my neighbors saw his work and hired him to do the same for one of their rental properties. HIRE REDLINE - you will be happy you did!! Thank you Jason and Redline!! I don't know what we would have done without you. * I think he may have underbid our job some as he originally estimated it to be 2 van loads. I also added some additional and exterior things during the job. We owned some items he agreed to barter for rather than increasing the price. I only mention this because if your estimate is higher than mine -- I guarantee you, he is being more than fair. He has earned my trust completely -- and I'm a retired attorney."

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it is generally better to remove it first to guarantee a smooth, professional finish. Painting over wallpaper can save time, but it may lead to issues if not done correctly.

You can paint over existing wallpaper if it is in excellent condition: smooth, non-textured, clean, and firmly adhered to the wall. Ensure there are no bumps, tears, or peeling areas, and that all corners and seams are securely glued down. You might also consider painting over wallpaper if removing it would damage the underlying wall. Additionally, some wallpapers are specifically designed to be paintable, which can add texture to a room.

However, there are risks. If the wallpaper is textured, damaged, or peeling, these imperfections will show through the new paint. The moisture from the paint can also loosen the wallpaper's adhesive, causing it to bubble and potentially damage the wall. To mitigate these issues, clean the surface thoroughly and use an oil-based primer to help the paint adhere and prevent the old adhesive from bleeding through.

Rubbing alcohol may help dissolve stubborn wallpaper adhesive that remains after removal, but be sure to apply it carefully to prevent damaging your walls. Apply a small amount using a cotton swab or pad, then gently scrape or wipe the adhesive away.

Painting over wood paneling is an option that can save you money and time. However, if you go this route, the style and texture of the wood you paint over will still be evident. Painting over paneling is an excellent way to modernize an otherwise outdated aesthetic. Instead of removing wood panels, consider painting them a bright color–like white or ivory. This is essentially wainscoting, but without any of the required installation.

Wallpaper in bathrooms can last anywhere from one to 10 years, depending on what type was used, how well it was installed, and the measures in place to reduce moisture and humidity levels. Opting for a more durable variety and taking all the necessary protective measures will get you closer to that longer lifespan.

To remove adhesive-backed wallpaper, you’ll need to soften the adhesive before you try peeling the wallpaper off the walls. You may wonder whether peel-and-stick wallpaper damages walls. It can depend on the removal method. Make sure to be patient and consider using a steamer, hair dryer, or adhesive remover to carefully take down adhesive-backed wallpaper.
