They had to break down furniture, put it back together, fit awkward shaped furniture in small spaces and they did it all with kindness, patience, professionalism and great communication. The type of flooring you plan to install will determine if it goes in before or after the cabinets. It's okay to swap the order in many cases. However, hardwood floors, sheet materials, and tile often go down before the cabinets go in. Floating floors like laminate or luxury vinyl planking should go down after the cabinets are in place.

Carpet tiles are less expensive than traditional carpet. The average cost of carpet installation is $1,800, or $3 to $11 per square foot. Plywood is the best type of subfloor for a mobile home, though if you’re installing flooring in a bathroom, you may want to install a vapor barrier or use a moisture-proof subfloor material like Amdry. OBS is similar, but it can swell when moisture is present. 

Either way, old mobile home subflooring made from particleboard can cause issues with your joints. If you’re replacing your subfloor, it’s best to upgrade to plywood.

Sheet vinyl is among the most affordable flooring options, and it’s very durable, too. You can buy sheet vinyl for as low as $0.50 per square foot, and it can last you 10 to 20 years. After sheet vinyl, laminate flooring is the next most cost-friendly flooring option, with prices ranging from $1 to $6 per square foot. Other inexpensive but durable options include linoleum, carpeting, and concrete, each of which can be purchased for as low as $2 per square foot.

Tile—specifically smaller, mosaic-style tiles—is the best type of flooring for building a walk-in shower base. Shower pans come with a threshold and sidewalls to contain the water, but tile can be set into the shower base. This creates a walk-in shower floor that gently slopes toward the drain to keep water from getting out and into the rest of the bathroom.
