"Aaron recently performed a home inspection because weâ ve had humidity issues in our house and thereâ s mold growing on the wall in the mudroom near a vent. What I thought would be a 15 min glance around the house and provide a quote turned into an hour-plus thorough inspection of the entire house, including in the closets and cabinets, as well as underneath several pieces of furniture and behind the walls in the unfinished basement. I was impressed by Aaronâ s vigilance in identifying sources of mold throughout the house AND in his extensive knowledge about causes of mold growth and remediation strategies. He opened up the HVAC and inspected the cooling coils to ensure there was no â foodâ for mold to grow. Throughout the house, he inspected prior areas of water damage and was able to discern between water stains and mold growth. His extensive knowledge not just about mold but the problems that contribute to high humidity and mold growth was extensive. It was clear that Aaron is an expert in his craft and when you are trying to eliminate mold in the house where your family lives every day, he is the person I trust. The best part is at the end, he didnâ t simply say â treat the entire house or it will come backâ . He gave us similar options that would be effective at eliminating the mold permanently without using scare tactics or upselling us anything we didnâ t need. If you think you have mold, call Aaron Coulter at Green Home Solutions."

"We recently installed a solar shield, solar attic fans, and 30 solar panels on our home. We are so happy with everything! From the first time we sat done with Shane Durie, to the installation, to the time it was switched on. They were very polite, professional, knowledgeable and respectful of our property. They even took care of permits and HOA approval. If anyone is looking for someone to install solar panels, give them a call, you will be happy you did. 5â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸"

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

You can call a professional septic company to inspect your tank and leach field if you suspect too much weight has been on it. An inspection is a good idea if you recently purchased the home and the septic system isn’t working like you expected. The professionals can determine whether a previous owner damaged it by placing too much weight on it.

You can start inspecting your roof from the ground by looking for unevenness in the roof lines and slopes. Keep an eye out for broken, damaged, or missing shingles, and look for visible gaps where the roofing material meets exterior walls or roof penetrations, like your chimney. If you’re comfortable getting up on your roof and using the necessary safety equipment, you can get a closer look at these areas to identify signs of damage. If you notice any potential issues, it’s best to call in a professional to confirm your findings.

Generally, foundation cracks and repair are not covered by standard homeowners insurance policies. This type of damage is often considered normal wear and tear or a result of poor maintenance, which is the homeowner's responsibility. For example, damage caused by settling, shifting soil, or drainage issues is typically excluded.

However, there are exceptions. Coverage may apply if the foundation damage is a direct result of a covered peril, such as a house fire, a burst pipe, vandalism, or a vehicle accident. Coverage for natural disasters like earthquakes and floods often requires a separate, specific policy or add-on.

You can ensure a home inspector is unbiased by doing your research. Verify their work history and certifications so you know they’re qualified to be inspecting your home. Read reviews to understand other customers’ experiences and whether or not they were satisfied with the inspector’s assessment. Interview potential home inspectors and ask how they get their clients. If they’re not dependent on any one realtor for clients, they’re unlikely to risk producing a faulty report just to benefit one agent.

Having a garage installed certainly adds to the value of your home. The consideration is not whether it adds value, but for many, they want to know if adding a garage yields a return on their investment or ROI. While garages can add anywhere from 5% to 20% of the total value of your property, that doesn’t mean that they return 5% to 20% of the money invested in building them. Most homeowners build garages for a purpose but know that you can recover your investment when you sell or refinance.
