"We contacted JES at their NOVA office in Manassas. We were visited by an outstanding JES structural engineer, Lance Ziolkowski. Lance answered all our questions, planned the structural improvements needed in our basement, prepared paperwork for county permits, and advised us throughout the process. When the permit was approved, a team came to inject a poly product to fill voids under our garage. A second team came to install 5 Intellijacks under the beams in the ceiling of our basement, and also raise the Intellijacks to provide better support for our house. When there was a minor mistake, JES s installation supervisor Manny Chavez, came to correct it. To ensure everything was completed correctly, Lance (the engineer) returned to measure and confirm that the Intellijacks were raised to the right height. Lance s guidance throughout the project made all the difference! We are pleased to know that our garage floor is now stabilized and that we now have a solid, strong foundation supporting our house. Good job JES!"

"Good people to work with, professional in every way. Normally when we received 2" of rain water would start entering the basement. When we receive 3" the basement floor would be covered. Two days after installing their system our area received 8.5" of rain and our basement remained dry, not a drop got in the house. These guys know what they are doing."

"I had a small but complicated, hard to access, and structurally essential repair job on a 60-year-old concrete deck attached to my 280-year-old Pennsylvania limestone farmhouse. I contacted several masons listed for my area on Home Advisor, and included Mr. Grady as a long shot -- I read about his expertise with historical structures and wished I had access to such an expert craftsman, but I didn't think he'd be interested in my teeny job and assumed I wouldn't be able to afford him anyway. He was the first one to return my call and to look at the job, and I thought his price was fair. I believe now it was way more than fair, considering the time he spent. He did extensive research, going over a structural engineer's report I had done previously on the deck and even examining the original architectural drawings and materials invoices from 1959. He showed up at least three times to complete the repair in stages, and has been back a half a dozen times since then to check the job -- and my location is not exactly in his neighborhood. He accepted only enough payment in advance to pay for lodging for himself and his assistant when they stayed nearby one night in order to be there early the next morning. He gave and continues to give free advice about preserving my stone house and patio. If you prod him a little, he might even share some of his personal philosophy, earned over a lifetime of work that is clearly more of an art form than a job to him. Overall, I'd say you can hire one of many competent contractors and get an adequate job, or you can hire Mr. Grady and get superior work by someone who cares about your property as much as you do."

"When providing a quote for a moisture issue in the basement of my split-level home, Rob took the time to listen to me explain the issues, answered all of my many questions, and thoroughly explained what he thought needed to be done. We discussed both a costly option (digging up part of the yard and installing drains and waterpoofing on the exterior) as well as a cheaper one (waterproofing paint on the interior). Even though the exterior fix was the best option for ensuring the issue would be remedied, he thought that the interior fix would be sufficient and provided me with information so that I could pick what I thought was best rather than pressuring me into picking the pricier option. He also noticed that my crawl space was lacking a vapor barrier and provided a quote for that as well. I am very pleased with the finished product. Despite some recent heavy rains, I have yet to see any further moisture problems from the basement. And even though I hadn't originally planned to pay for a vapor barrier installation, the price was good enough that I decided to opt for it and I'm glad I did. Even though it would have been cheaper to do the work myself, I am very pleased with the quality I received."

"We recently had New Century Builders perform some much-needed work on our 40-year-old home. All of the carpet and vinyl flooring was removed, the paneling was removed from the dining room and kitchen, and repairs made to sheetrock throughout the entire 1248 square foot house. The walls and ceilings were given a fresh coat of paint, luxury vinyl plank flooring installed, some of the subfloor was repaired, and acrylic wall panels installed in one bathroom. Although not a large crew, all of this work was completed on time (about 3-1/2 weeks), other repairs made that were not in the original scope of work, and all of the scrap removed. The owner and his crew could not have been easier to work with. Any items that came up during this project (and there are always unseen and unknown glitches that will arise in a project of this size) were discussed and tackled right away without any pushback or hesitation. Even minor problems that my wife and I did not see were repaired to assure that a quality job was rendered. At times, even before we could say anything, one of the crew would spot a defect and make the necessary repairs because they take pride in their work and wanted to make sure we were satisfied. Workers showed up not just on time but early every day they were scheduled to work. All of this was done for a fair price. We highly recommend Donnie Linkous and New Century Builders for any home remodeling projects that you may have. We will definitely keep them in mind for any future projects that arise.
