Wayne offered to pick up the supplies needed for the project and presented us with the receipt so we could reimburse him. The Angie's List Deal we purchased was Contractor for a Week (40 hours with one worker). We agreed that it would be best to have two men for 20 hours each to complete our projects. From our experience, we suggest that you carefully plan which tasks are best suited for this type of deal. Wayne wisely noted that customers are most satisfied when the contractor is allowed to bring a project to completion, rather that doing small, unrelated tasks all over the house. Our basement, bathroom, and window projects were completed. We chose to continue the kitchen wallpaper removal project ourselves after the team completed their 40 hours. I would recommend the this Angie's List Deal offered by Wayne Lantz. We were very pleased with the quality work performed and the professionalism of the team. One reason I hired him over the other AL contractors I met with, is that Mr. Barrett is on site working with his team for the entire job, so he can oversee the work to make sure it meets his standards. He and his team did an excellent job of prepping and painting the exterior of my house and shed which were in rough shape to start with. At first, there was an issue with the color on the siding which he fixed right away and the color turned out perfect...exactly what I wanted. The color I had selected for the doors turned out not to be very complimentary to the siding, and he advised me in picking a different color which is much better. The end result is beautiful! He also fixed the door on my shed (which used to be held closed with a bungie cord), and took down the exterior lights on both front and back to paint the siding behind them since I had new light fixtures to put up, and then he installed the new fixtures too! My neighbors like my new-looking house as much as I do! Mr. Barrett also painted my kitchen which has a vaulted ceiling, 2 skylights, and was wallpapered. It was a job I couldn't do myself. Turned out the wallpaper couldn't be removed without a lot of damage to the drywall, and my budget wasn't big enough to cover all that drywall repair. I was afraid he was going to tell me I'd be stuck with the wallpaper, but he offered a work-around of using an oil-based primer over the wallpaper, and then paint over that. Again the result was beautiful! Mr. Barrett is very punctual, and called me every evening to make sure I was happy with the progress. I would highly recommend him, and will most definately call him again for any future painting projects. I explained the scope of the work (the material the murals were printed on, the size of the murals, the type of paint on the wall, etc.) and he provided me with a quote over the phone. We went back and forth looking for a date that we could agree upon (he is very busy and our schedule isn't flexible). I called to confirm our appointment two days in advance. Chris showed up on time, he was friendly, efficient, brought everything he needed to do the job and was finished in the time that he had estimated. We are pleased with the work! He would often show up late or not at all. He removed some of the wall paper in the bathrooms but did not completely remove the wallpaper in any of the rooms. He painted many of the rooms, but he did not completely finish any single room. He would paint over screws and nails without removing them, and did not fill in most of the holes in the walls despite being asked. He would not use a drop cloth and there were drops of paint from the walls and trim on our refinished hard wood floors. Despite this, we paid him promptly when he asked to be paid. He did not show up for work at all after about 1 month, and we could not contact him. We later found out that he had gone to jail. When he got out of jail, we contacted him again to finish the work. He promised numerous times to return and finish the work that we had paid him for (we especially needed him to finish the faux in the dining room), but he would never show up when he said he would."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/nc/charlotte/watts-painting-reviews-66732.htm"},"position":10}]}

Gould Star is the only one I call for repairs and projects. He does my lite plumbing and electric. He just hung wallpaper and installed plate rail in my living room. He tiled my kitchen backsplash as well.

"A Home Renovation LLC (Owner: Javier) Overall Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars (DO NOT RECOMMEND) I hired A Home Renovation LLC for a porch renovation, which included a smaller, agreed-upon auxiliary job. While the project was completed, the experience was deeply unsatisfactory due to both subpar workmanship in highly visible areas and the highly unprofessional and belligerent behavior of the owner, Javier. Issues with Professionalism and Communication Javier is exceptionally challenging and argumentative to work with. His communication was defined by open hostility, sarcasm, and dismissal of customer input. Argumentative and Dismissive: He was openly hostile to basic customer questions and input. When questioned, he repeatedly reminded me that he had "been doing this work 10 years," using his asserted experience to dismiss any concern or design preference I had. Rude and Disproportionate: When I politely requested an itemized receipt, his immediate, disproportionate response was: "Jesus Christ you told me at my earliest convenience. I'm working on it. I've been busy." This established a tone of disrespect for the entire engagement. Excusing Poor Quality: When a flaw in the completed work was pointed out, Javier’s response was, "you get what you pay for," suggesting low quality was justified despite our agreed-upon contract price. Contractual Obligation Treated as a "Favor": He treated the small, agreed-upon extra job as a personal favor rather than a commitment under our contract. Critical Workmanship and Material Damages The structural work was adequate, but the final, highly visible details suffered from poor execution and damaged materials. Poor Workmanship: The final detailing includes uneven cuts and poor finishes in prominent areas. Material Damage: We noted several critical material damages upon final inspection: Cracked stair post tubing. The hand railing running down the stairs is badly scratched. A new white handrail has a noticeable black stain on the bottom. Conclusion Had Javier been willing to engage respectfully, I might have been able to overlook minor imperfections. However, his belligerent attitude, combined with noticeable flaws and material damage, makes this unacceptable. I now require that all noted issues, including specific poor workmanship and material damages, be corrected immediately or that I be reimbursed for the cost of professional repairs. Due to Javier's conduct, A Home Renovation LLC has lost any opportunity for future projects I had planned. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere unless you can handle the disrespect."

FAQs for wallpaper service projects in Prince George, VA
Hanging wallpaper may seem simple, but in practice it requires significant planning and finesse to make it look professional. To start, you need to get an even application of wallpaper paste across all of your wallpaper, which requires experience and large pasting tables to get right. You also need to plan out your design and match it exactly so that you don’t have imperfections in the finished product. It’s often better to hire a professional wallpaper hanger who can get the job done properly for a clean, smooth finish.
The average cost to hire a professional wallpaper hanger is around $575 per room, but it’s not uncommon to see prices range from $175 to $1,400 or more for a single room. Your total project cost depends on the wallpaper quality, room type and size, and whether you must remove old wallpaper. Since room size is one of the most significant cost factors, you can use a price between $1 and $7 per square foot to estimate your wallpapering labor cost.
It depends: You can wallpaper over non-coated wallpaper, but you should never wallpaper over vinyl-coated wallpaper. This non-recommended method will cause the new wallpaper to fail to stick, which can lead to bubbling, imperfections, and even mold growth between the layers of wallpaper. Consult a professional wallpaper hanger to determine your existing wallpaper type or remove the current wallpaper and paste residue so that the new wallpaper will adhere properly.
Spring and fall are the best seasons to apply wallpaper because excessively hot or cold temperatures can cause issues with the paste used to attach the paper to the wall. A professional wallpaper hanger can help you decide if your home is too hot, cold, humid, or dry for the wallpaper to stick properly.
Hiring a professional wallpaper hanger is usually a worthwhile idea because, while the application of wallpaper itself is easy, getting the finished product to look good is complicated and takes a lot of practice and patience. A professional wallpaper hanger will not only be able to hang your wallpaper seamlessly, but they will also get an even application of wallpaper paste to avoid bubbling and imperfections immediately and over time. Plus, they can provide their professional opinion on whether to remove or wallpaper over an existing layer of wallpaper.
