"I recently did a home remodel, which included installing hardwood floors. JCM came highly recommended by one of my friends, so I contacted them for an estimate. Marlon came out very soon after I contacted him, was early to the appointment, took measurements, and gave me a quote the same day. He answered all of my questions and was very responsive. I used reclaimed maple hardwood and they had no issues installing it (and were very selective in which pieces they used). The floors were sanded down and they put down sample stains so I could see what the finish would look like on the actual floor. Marlon’s crew was amazing. They were kind and did an excellent job. Marlon worked with me on the details (like what type of trim piece to put on the threshold - showing me the actual options so I could visualize what it would look like) and was very helpful with all of my questions. Wayne Settle came out as scheduled, looked at the space, measured it, had us choose the flooring, and then gave us a price. He brought the materials out to sit for a week before installation inside the house to avoid expansion or shrinking because of the temperature or humidly change after delivery. He scheduled the installation on the first mutually agreeable day after the week, a Thursday.

In deference to our preference for not getting up extremely early (we are retired) he set the arrival time for 9 a.m., and he and two other workmen (one a workman, one a workwoman) arrived about 10 minutes early. They set to work immediately and efficiently, moving the last heavy pieces of furniture to one side of the room and then the other as they worked, as agreed. They had the bedroom finished and ready to sleep in by the time they left that afternoon, and returned at 9 the next morning to do the hall. The job is beautiful, with every corner perfectly finished, and Wayne without a reminder deducted the cost of flooring the closets, a change we had not requested until after the flooring was ordered.

All three were very friendly and pleasant, as quiet as people using power tools can be, and willing to put up with a large and noisy dog. We felt the cost was very reasonable for more than 10 hours of work by three people, and they could not have been more responsive. Wayne cheerfully concluded the job by fixing a badly-hung door that hadn't worked well in more than 20 years. We were more than happy that we had found such good people through Angie's List!

"We asked Mr. Chun to come to our home to give us an estimate for having hardwood floors put in on our stairs. The price he quoted us was so reasonable that we asked him to come back the next day to give us an estimate on the second set of stairs in our home, which we had not planned on converting to hardwoods. Mr. Chun was extremely professional and a very hard worker. It was obvious that he took great pride in his work. "The project has taken more time than anticipated due to material and subcontractor availability. The framing work was outstanding. Wall board work was also outstanding. Electrical work was very good, but the location of a bathroom fixture and chair lift power plug had to be moved because they were too low. The tile work in the bathroom (shower and floor), computer room (floor), entrance (floor) was outstanding, but I'd rather call it amazing. The plumbing work was very good, but parts availability delayed completion. Finishing work done by MJL was outstanding!!! Anthony is a master at detail. The rigor of MJL inspection of work by the subcontractors was very thorough and when issues were identified were recorded and worked off. Communication and follow up is a big deal for home improvement projects in this challenging environment of material, parts, and workforce shortages. MJL excelled in communication. We rated punctuality as good but would have rated them very good if there was an option. We highly recommend them. We have since booked two additional projects with MJL, a screened in porch and a garage redo. They start in late July. We expect both projects to go very well."
