"Ya Tree and Lawn Services was AMAZING! The entire crew was friendly and professional. The skill and expertise and they took down our trees was remarkable. In VERY close quarters they did not hit anything. They cleaned up thoroughly and immediately in our yard and the neighbors' yards where some debris fell (but very little). We recommended them to that neighbor already for some work she is thinking of. GREAT JOB by Ya Tree and Lawn Services!"

Small jobs welcome

"The service was totally professional from beginning to end. The services quoted were completed in a timely manner. They were on time through the entire process. They overcame bad weather, wind, and in some cases a tough ;location. The job required a great knowledge of tree removal. I can not say enough good things about their work. Thank you Jonathan, Josh, and Ben Thanks again. I would use Valley Tree Care again without further consideration. They are the best!"

Customers say: Quick response

"These guys are awesome! Customer service is excellent. They came out immediately to give a quote (which was about 30% less than all the other places that provided me an estimate) and it didn't take forever to set up an appointment. Agreed upon work was completed and clean up was done well. Will definitely hire again in the future."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.

If you don’t cut down a dead, dying, or diseased tree, it can become a nesting place for pests like mosquitos, bees, beetles, wasps, fly larvae, and more. Some pests will live in the tree, while others will feed off the decaying wood. Unhealthy trees are also more likely to fall over, potentially injuring people and causing damage to your property.

Pruning trees is important for several reasons. It improves tree health and strength by removing dead, diseased, or unwanted branches, which in turn encourages new growth and can help treat disease. For fruit trees, proper pruning can lead to a larger and better-quality harvest. Pruning also enhances safety by removing weak limbs that could break and fall, potentially causing injury or property damage, especially during storms. Beyond these functional benefits, pruning can also improve a tree's appearance. To ensure pruning is done correctly for the tree's long-term health, consider hiring a professional.

The safest way to cut down a tree is to make sure you’re completely prepared and have done all the necessary safety checks, including double-checking your equipment is in good working order, you have plenty of clearance to fell the tree, you’re wearing all the safety gear, and you have a partner to help you (who should also be wearing safety gear).

Trees aren't big fans of moving, and they do go into shock during a transplant. Although most carefully thought-out tree transplants see the tree recover from the shock just fine, there is always a risk of having an unsuccessful move. Proper preparation, timing, and diligent aftercare are crucial to minimize the risks when transplanting a tree.
