"It went well. I called late in the game - the HOA wanted things done ASAP and CWLandcare got me a quote in a couple days. I was a little surprised by the quote and we worked out an arrangement. The work was completed on the date requested and looks fantastic. They even mowed the lawn and treated the weeds in the drive. Highly recommend.

"I needed my backyard leveled to the point where I could maintain it myself after a long period of inattention. They removed a deep layer of old pine and pin oak debris then mowed and removed the weeds and vines. I can now walk in my backyard and focus on it's renewal - likely with the help of Santana and Sons."

"Lupe and his team did an amazing job with our retaining wall / curb. The project was a joint project for two homeowners. He worked well with both of us. He helped get HOA approval. Our curb appeal was totally transformed. Priced right, started on time, finished on time and did a great clean up afterwards. We will use him again for sure."

"Great service and professional. The contractor took down a huge tree in my backyard in two days pretty much manually. Hard workers with a determination to get it done. I would highly recommend Green Elite to others as they provide an array of services and knowledge."

"Southern Landscaping came in and did an amazing job with landscaping our back yard. The landscaping including creating two rock gardens, mulching all natural areas, building a stone border around mulched areas, and putting in a drainage system to support heavy rains washing away problem areas of the yard. They also planted trees and multiple bushes and plants to add to the overall impact. Our backyard looks simply amazing! We have lived in our house for almost 20 years and our yard never looked so beautiful! We have now hired Southern Landscaping for weekly mowing and weed maintenance. Taylor Roop and his team have the vision to make your dream a reality! I would highly recommend their services!"

The cost to reseed or overseed a lawn is about $1,050 on average, ranging from $450 to $1,700, depending on lawn size, seed type, and location. Popular seed types for residential lawns include bahia, fescue, and Bermuda. Keep in mind that it costs $0.10 to $0.20 per square foot to seed or overseed a lawn. Additional cost factors may include:
Fertilization: $80–$400
Soil testing: $700–$2,100
Yard cleanup and leaf removal: $200–$560
Treating weeds: $110–$325
Mowing: $50–$210
On average, the cost of lawn fertilization is $250, ranging from $80 to $400, depending on the size of the lawn, its current condition, additional treatments, number of applications, fertilizer type, and location. Keep in mind that labor, tools, and equipment make up 80% to 90% of the total cost of lawn fertilization. Additional lawn treatment options include:
Lime treatment: $100–$150 per 1,000 square feet
Crabgrass treatment: $30–$80
Grub treatment: $30–$80
Mulching: $150–$400
Dethatching: $265–$295
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
