"Angie's List turned up Robin's Cleaning Service as a possible contractor for carpet cleaning. We went with her since she's independent and relatively local (Gretna). She came today, worked hard for over two hours to clean our Master BR and closet, lower staircase and roughly 1/4 of the lower living area, and did a lovely, attentive and thorough job for $225. Very pleasant--does carpets and other cleaning, painting, landscaping, mowing and pressure washing between morning and evening school bus driving for Gretna public schools (all three levels). Just a really sweet lady whom we enjoyed getting to know. If you have odd jobs, give her a chance. Robin Hall, 434-728-0529, is highly recommended! Vinyl Siding Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The average cost to repair hail damage to a home is around $1,100, but you could pay anywhere from $250 to $3,000 or more, depending on the extent of the necessary repairs. If a hail damage repair company determines your roof is too old or too damaged to be worth repairing, then you might pay an average of $9,200 to replace your roof. Excessive hail damage may be covered by your homeowner’s insurance policy or a home warranty, so check those policies before paying out of pocket for roof repair or replacement.

It is possible to restore vinyl siding, as it’s known to fade in color with exposure to the elements. Worse, the fading isn’t always uniform around the house. Making a siding repair that’s 100% invisible is difficult, if not impossible. You can get close to perfect, but not always.

However, if you have significant discoloration, wish to change the color of your house, or want to put off replacement for a year, you’re not entirely out of luck. You may be surprised to learn that you can paint your vinyl siding with good results, although not incredibly long-lasting.

Yes, professionals can color-match new or repaired stucco to existing finishes to ensure a seamless and uniform appearance. While most providers offer this service, it is recommended to confirm with them beforehand.

The average cost for siding repair is $900, with a typical range of $360 to $1,450. However, costs can be as low as $75 for minor fixes or as high as $16,000 for extensive damage. The final price depends on the siding material, the extent and type of damage, your location, and the time of year.

Costs per square foot for materials and labor vary by siding type:

  • Vinyl: $2–$4

  • Fiber cement: $3–$11

  • Wood: $4–$13

  • Aluminum: $5–$7

  • Clapboard: $5–$10

  • Brick: $6–$18

  • Stone: $10–$30

  • Stucco: $9–$50

Because vinyl is a type of plastic, it can start to melt and then warp when it has been exposed to too much heat. While you can’t control the amount of sun your home gets every year, you can take some precautions to help your vinyl siding. Choose lighter colors for your siding, such as whites, off-whites, and beiges; these colors will reflect light rather than absorb it. You should also avoid oil-based coatings, which tend to crack more easily when applied to vinyl—this allows more heat to get to the siding.
