"I hired Ultimate Craftsman to tear down an old deck and build a new larger screened in porch with sky lights in it's place. The designer Dave really listened to what I wanted and got on paper my exact vision. The owner Mark always answered his phone and was quick to address any concerns. He used quality materials and professional craftsman. His carpenter John and his roofer Rodney showed great pride in their work. The end result was exactly what I asked them to build and we have received many compliments from our neighbors."

"I had the pleasure of working with QualityFirst to get my house rental-ready. From start to finish, the team demonstrated professionalism, expertise and attention to detail and quality. With stellar and consistent communication throughout, Ryan and the team were more than willing to answer any questions I had, as well as collaborate with me throughout the entire process. The renovations were prompt, within budget and met to the highest standard of quality. I would recommend QualityFirst to anyone looking for property renovations. "Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

Residential Design questions, answered by experts

To stage your home yourself, clean your home thoroughly to sell, leaving it gleaming like a five-star hotel. Less is best—always clear away clutter and anything personal so buyers can focus on the beauty of the rooms. Prospective buyers will check the closets, so investing in a storage space may be necessary.

Move furniture around, mix fabrics and decor, and de-cramp the room by removing any unnecessary furniture. A fresh coat of paint always helps, as do natural features like plants.

A floor plan is a less detailed illustration showing a building or room's layout from above, including elements like windows, doors, walls, and fixtures. It offers a simplified view for homeowners. In contrast, a blueprint is a more detailed, to-scale architectural drawing that includes all parts of the building plans, such as structural elements, construction details, and utility schematics. While a floor plan can be a type of view within a blueprint, the complete blueprint contains all the necessary details to turn the plan into a reality.

Aging-in-place universal design features can make your home more comfortable for family members who are older or have disabilities; they can also make your home safer. In addition, adding a universal-design bathroom can boost your home’s overall resale value.

Mid-century modern design focused primarily on two things: simple, functional furniture, often with geometric shapes, and specific color palettes that included earth tones and what we’d today call retro colors. Furniture often blended different materials, like teak or oak wood, with vinyl, metal, and glass. Common mid-century modern paint colors included browns, reds, burnt oranges, yellows, aqua greens, and whites.

If you’re considering feng shui, you might also want to think about paying to declutter your home and tidy it up before, during, and after your feng shui consultation. Feng shui calls for an organized, clutter-free space. Follow a comprehensive house cleaning checklist to stay on track. Following the consultation, you might also want to hire a professional painter, mover, or interior decorator to make the consultant’s vision a reality.
