Recent Basement Waterproofing Reviews in Glen Allen
Managed Services Group, LLC
5.0
Scott and his team at Managed Services Group helped us navigate a really challenging situation after our basement flooded. They took a holistic and cost-conscious approach to ensure our basement won't flood again, from the walls around the foundation to a new sump pump system, to some landscaping updates that will all help move water AWAY from our house and never show up in the basement again. Scott and his team were communicative and helpful and we always felt like they had our best interests in mind

MJL Contractors, Inc
5.0
We were very pleased with the professionalism and quality of work done. Our basement flooded requiring a complete rebuild. Mike and his team were timely with delivery of an estimate, very communicative and we greatly appreciated his vision and suggestions. Because of the quality of work we decided to use him to replace our roof as well. I would highly recommend MJL to anyone and have actually already referred him to family

Value Dry Waterproofing
5.0
My basement only had water come into it once after a downpour, but I definitely had a mold issue downstairs. Any object left in the basement developed mold if mold could possibly develop on that particular material. All other estimates were far cheaper, but the ValueDry presentation was far more professional and the work they proposed to do much more thorough. They give you a sales pitch about how much better their system is, and I recognized it was a sales pitch, but I decided not to take half measures and just get the whole job done. I could have scaled back the extent of the work, however. They gave me a number of options. Before the work started, I had an electrician install an electric outlet in the crawl space, per request of ValueDry. I got what I paid for. They told me in advance that they would be removing two of the four pine paneled walls in the den. They knocked a number of chips in one of the remaining walls and for some reason removed the crown molding on that wall even though they kept the wall. I went through their trashcan and recovered the wooden clothes hanger rack from a den closet and a wood attachment that goes with it. So I suppose that jackhammers and daintiness don't go together, but they got the job done. If you call their office in Baltimore, you may have to leave a message for the right person to call you back, but my calls were answered within a half hour. Here are more details about the job itself. They jackhammered through the concrete floor in three rooms (the family room/den plus bathroom and utility room) in order to install their type of pipe, as well as stone, mudguard, and flow channel. They went around the HVAC system in the utility room. Then they reinstalled the concrete floor. They removed two walls of 1959 pine paneling in order to cover the walls with a vapor barrier. They put the vapor barrier in the crawl space plus crawlspace drainage matting. The installed a closed-cell spray foam insulation vapor barrier in the crawl space. I got a sump well and 1/2 hp sump pump and a new battery back-up pumping system. They installed floor clean-outs, Jet-Kleen drain tile flushing systems. I have a new crawl space door and two EZ Breathe Ventilation Units, one for the basement and the other for the crawl, along with accompanying vents. Whenever I sell the house, I can check this off my list. There is nothing left to do on this issue

Air Resolutions
5.0
Coming from someone who is not easily complimentary of contractors, I have to say I could not have been more impressed with Air Resolutions. They completed an encapsulation of our 1960 Richmond West End Tri-level crawlspace and did a fabulous job. Communication was extremely responsive from the very start of the estimation process to the closeout of the project at the end. They were extremely thorough and made sure every detail of the space was done well and made sure I was happy with the job before leaving the site. I took a tour at the end, so I know that Air Resolutions went above and beyond what was required to make sure our crawlspace encapsulation was done well. I highly recommend these guys! (Angie's List is very limited in options when writing a review. I'm not sure if this company does basement waterproofing or foundation repair, but they were the only auto choices I could make when reviewing.

BAY Crawl Space & Foundation Repair
5.0
Bay crawlspace encapsulated my crawlspace and installed a French drain, pump, and dehumidifier. The crawlspace is 2,500 square feet and the project was completed as scheduled in about 5 days. The end- result is exactly as they said it would be. It is clean, well lit, and dry. I was very pleased with the crew assigned – Eric, Aaron, Shawn, and Floyd. They arrived promptly at 8:15 each morning and worked hard all day to get the job completed. They were very personable, kept me informed of the job’s progress, and answered all my questions. After the project was completed a production manager inspected the work, and after 10 days sent a technician out to address some minor concerns and questions I had. I really appreciate Bay’s follow-up in this regard. I also want to commend the office staff, all of whom were very professional and accommodating

All Aspects Waterproofing
5.0
You could not be in better hands with All Aspects Waterproofing! The AAW salesman spent more time than the two other bidders examining my basement. One bidder even pressured me to describe what his competition promised, then belittled them, but the AAW man was completely professional, with thorough explanations of what he planned to do and why. They were on schedule throughout the job. When I was unable to empty my basement in time, they finished the job for me to maintain the promised start date. When I asked that some demolition (ripping out drywall and built-in bookcases) be included in the project, they did that for the original quote. (I should note that all crew members were employees, not pick-up labor.) When they found a serious foundation problem, they stopped work for safety reasons, and explained the problem. They bid on a repair technique, but urged me to get an engineer's recommendation. When I chose a different technique/company for that specific problem, they were profesionally gracious. When I reported that the foundation repair was complete, they returned immediately to finsh the waterproofing project. The foundation repair company used a broom to clean up after themselves--the dust cloud rose all the way up to the first floor. In contrast, AAW was scrupulous about dust contamination issues, and used air vacuum equipment to protect my home as well as their own employees. AAW also applied mold/mildew abatement treatments throughout. AAW laid plastic sheets from front door to basement (the foundation repair people had to be asked to do that), and they removed all debris as part of their service. When the low-price sump pump I had selected acted up, they responded immediately, and upgraded the replacement at no cost. This is a dream company. Would that all home improvement/repair contractors were like them

Kefficient

Mark and his team were fantastic. We had been living with a moldy basement for too long and weren't sure how to best address it. Mark came up with a comprehensive plan that involved installing sump bumps and water barriers. He also helped us find a good carpenter to replace our moldy drywall. This was a year ago and we have had absolutely no problem during the rainy downfalls we've had this summer. The price was reasonable and actually came in a little less than was originally quoted. Before hiring Keffient, I read a review that described Mark as absolutely the best contract they have ever dealt with. I would agree

Mark and his team are great. We had a lot of water and mold in our crawl space. Mark gave us several options for resolution and didn't try to over sell. He was prompt and very responsive. I would definitely recommend him if you need inspections or work done.

"I called about water damage that is occuring in the basement of our church, but which is likely caused by something on the second level or higher. Even though Value Dry only addresses damage that can be addressed through basement-level drainage and encapsulation systems, they went to the trouble of connecting me with a masonry contractor who can help me. I am so thankful for their above-and-beyond efforts, and based on their customer service would highly recommend that you contact them if you have basement water troubles.

"Everything started very good. I received a call the same day to schedule the initial appointment. Matt the salesman was on time and very professional. I had to wait two weeks for the installation, that was not a problem. I was contacted about 2-3 days before the scheduled installation date and I was told that they overbooked some jobs and needed to move the installation one day. I had no problem with that. I was scheduled for 3 days in a row to complete the job. The crew showed up in time and completed the first part of the job, a second crew and the remaining part. That's when the problems started. I sat in my house for the next two days waiting for someone to show up to complete the work. I received a call at the end of the second day to let me know that I was scheduled for the next day, at this time I was not able to accommodate that request because I had family coming on that day for one day (Friday). Then I was told that I would receive a call on Friday to schedule another day to complete the work. I received a call 4 days later to tell me that my work will be completed a month later because they were booked up. On top of that, they told me that someone had tried to contact me several times and couldn't reach me. That was a lie, no one called me. At this time, I decided to canceled the remaining work , I was not going to wait another month to complete my work for their lack of communication and follow up. Then I received an email trying to schedule my work for the next Saturday, they were making an exception to help me. Really? Why that option was not available before, specially when I have been very flexible with them. I decided to cancel the remaining work anyway. The quality of work is good, Matt was great, but the admin office really needs to follow up when they suppose to. Don't make promises that you can't keep and don't lie trying to cover your lack of planning and communication. That's why I'm given them a B on my review.

"Hire this guy. He knows what he is doing. I never liked the repair the previous owner did 20 years ago, so I called Allan for help. He sistered 6 joists and fully replaced another 8 joists, and replaced the patio door that was getting harder and harder to open. Now the floor is solid, the door opens and closes perfectly, and everything is better than it was. Thank you!

"The team at Exterior Medics did a fantastic job with our whole-house siding and gutter replacement. Not only were they the lowest estimate (by far) for replacing our siding with James Hardie fiber cement, but they also did amazing work. The salesman we dealt with was knowledgeable and prompt, the project manager we dealt with was communicative and upbeat, and the team who installed the siding worked tirelessly. The installation team came early and stayed late, they worked Saturdays to finish the project as quickly as possible, and the work they did is fantastic!
